My go to guy in Arizona just told me I missed on out the only Hellcat they have allocated. They took a $2500 deposit from someone else last week.

My backup choice has two Hellcat's allocated. They are going to sell them for $2500 over MSRP. One of his is sold (took a $2500 deposit already), but they will let me have the other if I want to pay their premium and put down a $2500 deposit. I don't want to pay over MSRP, so I am not going to take that one.

My local dealer says they are getting a "couple" Hellcat's and my guy there will let me have one for MSRP. However, I got the feeling talking to him that he was assuming they were getting a couple and didn't really know.

All three dealers told me that the initial production run was for 500 cars. The Hellcat is on Dealer Connect now, but the only options my guy could see were choice of transmission.

Bottom line, for those of you that are getting one of these, you had better get the checkbook out and start calling around now.

Are you really planning on getting one? MSRP, gas guzzler tax, sales tax, mark up, and whatever other fees, by time you get out the door with one it will be all of $70K.

For $59,900, I can't pass one up. But honestly, my budget will be a lot happier if it doesn't work out for me to get one.

Caveman is a baller. $70k is in his couch in his front yard.
I heard that story too, but I don't have a couch in my front yard. Maybe you meant to say I was a "balder"? :dontknow: :D

It's not for him, it for his kid.
Not kid, kids. They'll have to share. :D

your financial planner will be a lot happier if it doesn't work out too.

I cant imagine them selling them for "only" $2500 over MSRP.

Hell we have a $10,000 bump sticker on our GTR here in the showroom.

If you can get one that cheap, you need to jump on it. I am surprised that every single one isn't already spoken for.

I thought $2500 over was pretty cheap too. I'm just not baller enough to pay over MSRP, in order to be the coolest kid on the block. If anyone here wants the one that isn't spoken for, I'd be happy to point them in the right direction.

I'm with you 100%

There is no car out there id pay over sticker for either. But then again, i'm a Sales Manager in the car business.

Profit may not be a dirty word, but I don't need to pay their mortgage payment either.

After having all the problems with my last SRT8 Chally, I will wait a couple years before getting one again. :dontknow: By then there will be some used low mile ones, and hopefully all the bugs worked out. :dontknow:

That's my plan cause I'm a cheap ass lol.
I will let someone take the hit just to get one first .Plus I want choice of color I don't want to take whatever they get . ;)

What kidn of problems did you have? I was thinking about buying a 09 srt8.

I had a 2010 SRT8. All electrical issues. Multiple tire pressure sensors, sunroof, engine light, and car shutting off when idle and turning right (that was a fun one).
Traded the car in with less than 2500 miles, and with the tire pressure light on.

I thought you had problems with the door locks too?

The wifey gave me the thumbs up on jumping on the HC. I suppose the selling point for her was that it features a middle back seat belt and it's not too hard to get into the back seats. So, with that alone, trading in my fully stock '07 4-door SRT-8 seems like a great idea for her since I can still fit the kids in if I had to. BUT!!! Looking at the specs, the fuel consumption alone would kill me before all of the raping various that taxes and insurance will do to me. I dunno, that vehicle is one bad muther... And if it's just $2500 over sticker they want then YEAH MON.. ME WANT AN ME GON GET.. I just don't see the point of the fuel consumption thing. That's what holding me.. What are they saying? Like 1.5 gal/mile??? WTF???? It would be just to show off at GTGs and car shows. I can't see that being a daily driver. Just gimmie a 392 Chally and I'd be happy.

Giles reported 20 Mpg on his drive to nationals.

20 mpg sounds way more reasonable. Must'v been a 6spd. That available 8spd auto doesn't seem too shabby either. But I have to have the manual Tremec for my taste..
