Reverse issues

Here's the thing... I already removed the spring.

And,

Reverse went from- no problem going into reverse- to lots of problem going into reverse over night.

There is no spring in there.

That's crazy! I'd just remove plunger too. Don't know why it'd be under tension still. :dontknow:

Mine popped out twice this morning. What's that tell me?

One of our master techs things that there must be a nylon bushing or something that is not in the proper orientation and that's why it feels difficult to go into reverse and shizzle.

Fixed it.

Removed the plunger completely. No more reverse issues.

Guess I didn't need to spend $36,000 on a new car after all!

DOH!

Nah but really, i'm glad to have a new car and also the truck!

Great to hear bud. Isn't reverse so much easier now? :)

Well it was always easy that's the weird part.

It all of a sudden got really hard to go into reverse. :dontknow:

So you master tech was off base a little huh? Lol:D
What happens is, as you've seen while disassembling, the plunger inside solenoid is in retracted position when you start your truck/car. Once you achieve 15mph I think and likely sane time as doors lock, your solenoid extends into position so you can't even enter the reverse gate. When solenoid goes out it can only happen in one of those two positions. Either you'll be able to enter reverse gate (but not select gear) while shifting into 5th while drunken, not paying attention, or letting a rookie drive :D and be able to go Into reverse and really never realize you have an issue. Or....the solenoid goes out and locks into the extended position that it should only be in once vehicle is moving, maki you fight the spring/plunger tension to enter reverse gate. It literally takes two hands to muscle into reverse like your scenario.
Great to hear you've fixed it and you'll NEVER have the issue again.
You can buy a new one for around $150 or less but it'll go out again one day. Lol

There is no wire attached to it....................Hence the reason it is in the extended position.:)
