Motor wont go back in

Ok...so ive spent 5hrs! Trying to slide the motor back into the tranny. Yes the clutch plate is aligned and the tranny is first gear and no the clutch pedal is not engaged. Does anyone have any tips?

you don't have the pilot bearing lined up just right, that and or you may need to release the pressure on the slave cylinder, even tho you think the pilot is aligned it may not be "just right" get some longer bolts to use as guides, even studs if you can find them long enough, that greatly helps, slide them in four opposing spots, then slide the tranny onto the studs, some times the tranny slides right in, others you may fight for hours for no reason at all

I personally don't do it that way but that's me. I prefer backing tranny up, installing engine, then mating Trans. With a manual anyways. Open bleeder on Slave and that'll release some resistance though. Guessing that new bearing was perfect huh?

Mate tranny and engine outside the engine bay. If there is room (haven't don't it before) But that might be the easiest way.

Weeelp... i ended up putting the pressure plate and clutch plate on the transmission shaft and then lowered the motor into it without any problems and slid right in haha.. Now i just gotta tighten the pressure plate bolts to fly wheel through the opening on the bottom of the bell housing, which i am currently doing...so far so good

Well guys i managed to intstall the clutch the way i described and it worked out just fine.
