Hey guys. Im about to pick up an 04 srt10 truck this weekend. I was wondering what are something things i need to know about as a new guy to owning this truck?

Speeding tickets are expensive
You can also run out of road real quick = respect it
Oil cooler & power steering/hydro fan lines leak - get aftermarket lines

In addition to expensive tickets, Oil & Fluid changes are pricy too.

The engine is noisy, meaning the injectors are naturally noisy, so it sounds as if all your lifters are clacking. It is just the injectors working.

Also, you will find that just driving down the road minding your business, every hemi truck owner that thinks he has a badass truck will try to show off around you. Mustang owners do this too. I think it's hilarious. I'm like yeah right sonny, my truck is 1000 times more badass than yours just standing still.

Harmonic balancer bolt.(lower pulley) 04's had issues with them backing out.torque down with blue loctite.

And it is a tough little bastard to get to!! Save your knuckles.... take the lower pulley off to get clear access to the dampner bolt.

I had a Ford Bronco try me in the rain last week. :dontknow: I just let him go move ahead watching as he drove like a retard and I slowed down waiting for him to flip the thing over. He had his fist out the window a 1/4 mile down the road as if he was fist pumping that he won or something. Was very weird.

LOL... Probably go to the Bronco forums and read all about him schooling an SRT-10.

Thanks for the replays guys! I will definitely look into replaving the lines if they havent been all ready. And ill check the bolt when i get the thing home. Ill be driving the thing 3.5 hours home so if it makes it then things are good woth it lol. It has had the t56 replaced with a new one recently so thats one less thing to wprry about for now. Other than those issues hows the reliability on these trucks? The plan would be to DD it but i do have my 88 crx as backup.

I haven't had mine long enough to advise on the reliability but from reading around as long as you've taken care of the oil and power steering lines and keep oil in it (the motor burns oil) and do your regular maintenance at the proper intervals they appear to be very reliable. A few are at 100k + mine is at almost 74k. I bought it with 69k. I haven't been left stranded.

The clutch slave cylinder was the first thing I had to fix on my '04. PS and Oil lines were next. Then the reverse gear on my T56 went out and took a few other tranny parts with it. Other than that....

well the guy i am buying the truck from has all ready replaced the trans about 6 months ago. so i think i should be ok on that part.

Mine is an 06 with 105,000 & is a daily driver. You take care of it & it will take care of you. Good Luck with your 10.
