Hi bros,
I'm looking for a good quality hood pin set/kit that fit my srt...
Does anyone can give me some ideas?
I know that most people here don't like hood pin, but I do.... :dontknow:
Thanks for any comments and suggestion!

I've always liked Mustangs with hood pins. It's the only vehicle I've ever seen that I liked them on though. Would be interested in seeing pics if you get any installed.

the problem with hood pins on Rams is the cross member in witch you would want to attach them too is so far back from the hood where it would look good and be practical.

Does anyone can give me some website where to buy (or at least see) a quality kit? I'd like stainless.....

Simone, read raceram9's post. The cross member is too far back for the pins to work on our truck. You can get the ricer stick on's if thats for you. Hood pins were made for fabricated front clips with hoods that had the latch removed to give the safety of the hood not flying up at speed. You have a latch, so whats the point? If you like the way they loook, i asure you, you wont when they are 8 inches further back than where they should be because of the mounting point.

This is an old thread but a hood PIN kit would actually help me with my issue. Since 2008 I've watched my CF hood move up and down at high speeds due to wind force. I was once signaled by another motorist years ago that my hood latch wasn't engaged. Well, it was but that's how it seemed. The hood latch apparently isn't enough. There's got to be a way for the pins to be mounted to the aforementioned cross bar under the hood. Looks are one thing... Safety and piece of mind is another.

Maybe i will get slammed for this but oh well i love the looks of hood pins i have never installed them before i bought a set about a week ago with cables cause i really like them stupidly not remembering ram hoods open with the grill. I was looking and could run the cables thru the small gaps by the headlights. Gonna do a mock up to see how far back they will sit and how they look might not use the cables anyways this is just my thoughts i dont need it for safety i just like the look maybe its dumb but we all like different things

The only thing I see that could be a challenge is how long the pins would have to be to clear the outter surface of the hood. Secondly, you may want to install a thin piece of rubber to prevent the discs from damaging your hood. It may require even more pin length for clearance.. Just a thought. Why couldn't the lanyards fit in through the grill? :dontknow:I might NOT be envisioning something that I should.

Because u would run the lanyards thru the grill so when u pull the pins they would hang down and since on a dodge the hood and grill lift as one the lanyards would slide thru the grill i guess if they were long enough they would work otherwise the lanyards and pins would go thru the grill see it now?

I see it now. Your idea for running them through the space near the headlights seems to be the best bet. Once the length of pins is established I will then try to get this done. I would feel better if actual functional hood pins were in place. Safety makes for a happier :driver:driving experience.
