I wish my truck could clean up as well as the car. My paint is so bad on the truck that the paint is cracking underneath the clear coat. Look strange as well. From 10 feet the truck looks great... any closer and in teh sun it looks like wolverine went haywire on the paint.

I have been wanting to do this for a while now. I bought the car in April of last year and have washed it over 100 times and it has easily 30 coats of wax.... lol

These wheels are so wide that i cant clean the "barrel" part of the wheel. Many thanks to Junkmans advice. As my car still has ZERO swirl marks. Remarkable really. I cannot believe i have been washing cars wrong my entire life.

The car is dirty here. Covered in bugs after our trip to orlando.

Junkmans 2 bucket method.

Foam Gun!

I just use like 2 cap fulls of regular car wash. Seems to suds the car just fine. And after 100+ washing's... no swirl marks so the cheap stuff is obviously fine.

Washed

I use this to dry the car. Like $25 at Walmart. Works great!

Jacked up!

This is a year's worth of brake dust.

Ohhhh... Superalloy! Sounds fancy!

All clean! The difference is huge. I forgot how bright the insides of the wheels were.

I claybared the car first using Girots speed shine and their clay bar. Then i waxed it. I really like the Meguire's Gold Class Paste Wax.

Took around 6 hours to do everything..... By the end of the day i was wiped out.... HOT!

Beautiful reflection!

Found Fangs chillin on my rear diff

All done! The paint is AMAZING now! I can't describe how fluid and just delicious the paint looks. My camera doesn't do the car justice!

Looks great Pete!

The only thing I can fault you on, is washing it out in the sun. :D
Looks great. Love the color.

And if you think that foam gun is cool, go get one of these.

I don't have a drain in my workshop or id wash it inside. Even though it was hot as hell i made sure to keep the car wet as i worked around it.

i have been told not to use a pressure washer to wash cars. In all honesty it really isn't necessary. Besides i don't like the noise.

Nice work. I am a fan of the 2 bucket method myself. Damn, Vipers look sexy in blue

I wash my cars late evening or at night. Neighbors probably think i'm crazy.
As far as the soap cannon. It's not high pressure. I can put my hand in front of it. Just produces alot more soap, and uses less. You use a few ounces of soap and fill the rest of the way with water. I use a small electric pressure washer for this.

hmmmmm

Maybe if i mounted an electric pressure washer on the wall or something. I like teh idea of more soap.

I'll get a video comparing the two next time I wash the truck... which will be soon.

Ok cool. Looking forward to seeing it.

We gotta get together and take some pics. I love your truck!

I really need to get up there sometime. I have the wife's family in Ocala, Williston, and Gainesville also.
I was up there at New Years and picked up the wifes new ride in Ocala. Her dad works for Phillips Chrysler. Talk about a quick trip. Drove up, signed papers and back home in about half a day.

Parts dept :D
No clue when the next trip will be. Might just rent a plane and fly up for the day. Alot easier to fly 2 hours than drive 4.

that is one sexy beast you got man...love the color too..if your feeling up to doing a full 3 step waxing and you like the Meguires products, may I recommend trying the "Mirrior Glaze" product line. I use this when ever I do a full waxing job and let me tell you, it kicks ass!! but I also use the liquid and a buffer, not the paist. it takes a bit longer to get thru but when your done it's like showroom finish and never has swerals.

very nice work though, man I need to get me a real toy lol
