Go to an auto parts store and buy the black plastic buttons with the barbed post on the bottom.
Push them into a hole (that fits the barbs).

At the risk of stating the obvious: Barb goes through the insulation, then into the hole behind it. :)

Yes, a few hours spent wandering around a home improvement store and you find there are all kinds of usable goodies.

Mine is all falling off as well. Bit scared of drills...holes etc in firewalls and hoods.
I can just see a disaster happening there. hole in ac or new vent hole in hood:eek:
    Might phone a friend

    - Tear off some tape
    - Turn it inside out (sticky out)
    - Roll it into a tube
    - Pull the insulation away from the firewall then...
    - Quickly throw the tape in the pocket between the firewall and insulation and let go and then
    - Pound on the area with your fist.
    - Repeat as required.

That's how the bodyshops do it. ;)

Just don't pound it too hard, Kiwi, don't need any bruised knuckles, or dents in the firewall, LOL!

Under the black plastic box that holds the wiring across the firewall are the holes that the plugs used to sit in. You shouldn't have to drill any holes unless its been hanging a long time
