So I've had my truck a year and a month, and didn't notice something until today. I see a switch of some sort, that's just above the emergency brake release handle, that says "Pedal". What in tarnation is it for? I'm afraid to touch it, until I know what it does. Anyone know?

It’s to adjust the height of the pedal.

You're talking about the emergency brake pedal, right? I had read something a few months back, that some trucks have/had an adjustable brake and clutch pedal.

That's to adjust the pedals toward / away from the seat. My '04 has that and it's great for my short wifee.

I don’t know about the RC, but on the QC it’s adjusts the brake pedal.

Really? I haven't fiddled with it yet, still a bit shy. I'm assuming it operates electrically, and need the engine on, or the power on?

It operates electronically and it should work just with the power on.

That pedal mechanism isn't overly robust.
I've been through (2) of them on my QC.

Here is a tip: Don't operate the pedal adjuster with your foot on the pedal(s).

Sounds like a no-brainer but if your vehicle is shared, maybe adjust the pedals first for them, and keep that switch a secret.

LOL, it was a secret to me as well. I'm the only one who drives the truck, the pedal is perfect for me. I'm not gonna fool with the switch. I have bad luck, and it would probably go in the wrong direction and be stuck there...

Has anyone looked into whether or not the world record for our trucks was partly attributed to him moving the pedals up all the way, thus giving him better acceleration since his pedal travels much further down during WOT? :p

Not a dumb question. I found it by accident. I think it is cool, I have never had a vehicle that had that option before.

Never be scared to ask questions, it may seem dumb to you but others are just happy to help and share their knowledge.
Look how many have owned up to not knowing what it was for.....all they had to do was ask. You have helped all those people today. ( warm fuzzy)

Don't be a scaredy cat. Try everything and ask questions. There is no ejector seat or self destruct sequence. You are quite safe. :D

On a serious note, I rarely touch my switch unless by accident while cleaning the truck.

The govt blew it, They gave special dispensation to two travellers on compassionate grounds and they both have it and have travelled the length of the North Island. Stupid young naive inexperienced govt trying too hard to look like they care.
