You know we can't forget our trucks for Christmas..any cool items under the tree???..new wheels??..new speakers???...a truck cover??? a super charger perhaps????..post it here.

Considering what the wife and I spent a few months ago for my T/A and her GC...I was limited to a detail kit and some new license plate frames.

No I am NOT still drunk from last night.
No I am NOT under the influence of pharmaceuticals.

Before cranking on the head bolts :)0) put a zip tie on the spout right under the rad cap. I had antifreeze migrating over to the area you are talking about and couldn't figure it out for the longest time.

Did that way back when mucking around with intakes throttle bodies intake manifold etc as I was forever knocking it off and yes it got messy very quickly
I was not going to tell anybody as it is a real backyard sort of repair...we call it Kiwi Ingenuity down here
I read somewhere here about external coolant leak and when they took the heads off they found the bolts were loose.
My SAAB was another one that had head bolts that came loose, it was doing the same. Cranked them up and problem solved.
The small tags I can see of head gasket is silver, not black or gold. Gold just what you need to buy new ones hahaha.

I notice that there are 2 holes at the lower end of head gasket. 1 for bolt and 1 for coolant. If the bolt should be loose it would leak from there. Which it is.
This is also the place where the temperature will likely have the biggest cycle between cold and hot. Rear of head by exhaust port. Making even more crush at hot and not enough at cold
Flatten that gasket even more....more compression....more whizz. CRANK IT UP!!!:D:eek::D:D:D
    Very scientific thinking of me.
Elementary my dear Watson....er um Ronnie:cool:

The passenger side gives a decent view of the lower portion of the head gasket. Easy to spot black or gold.
The OEM head bolts are coated and work dry. They are good for three assemblies and then should be replaced. I've never heard of them coming loose on these engines.
    Good hunting.

Well hopefully you can't see the coolant hole in the head gasket with the head bolted on the engine.

Purple spark plug wires may not help you focus on the colour of the head gaskets and could be a distraction.

I put in a new battery during Christmas. It seems like I replace the battery every one and a half years to two years.

I don't think they are building car batteries like they used to.
Engineers must be concentrating on smart-phone and electric bar batteries instead.

Had to replace mine after the first cold snap, it let me know my battery was tired. Fires up like a new born baby now.

What size horn did you get? I heard one a few months ago at my local speed shop, and it scared the sh!t out of me.

I'm confused. When I take a picture of my head gasket with my phone and I don't use a flash, my head gasket is black. 20210108_111338.jpg
With a flash, it is gold.

    Please help.
