I was looking at what shifter to buy, to try and help with dreaded 3rd gear selection problem, and this is what I have found.

    https://www.s1sequential.com/product/sequential-shifter-viper-t56-tr6060-copy/

they are very expensive but it make miss shifting a thing of the past, they are also Australian made.

I also talked with Mal Wood Automotive here in Australia and they offers a short throw shifter to suit the T56 and have fitted them to a SRT10 Ram.

I have also left contact messages (3) On the JTS venom website about the shifter they do, but I have not had a reply yet.

I would love to hear from anyone who has any thoughts on this.

Jts venom shifter is what you want. Easy to fit. Easy to adjust and makes a huge improvement. No more missed 3rd

I've seen these. My opinion, probably better for drag racing than daily driving. Its an impressive piece for sure. Have considered it.

S1 shifter with gear position sensor and gear position display options is just under $3000 AUS dollars

    :( That's a ton of cash for a shifter, I would think.

Although changing the shifter does help, it isn't the fix. The fix is to replace the slider keys to billet inside the trans. The factory ones are cheap stamped steel that chip and break.

My daily drive is a 2004 Ford Falcon 5.4 lt DOHC V8 with a T56 gearbox (factory fitted) and it shifts into 3rd fine with 135 000 kms on the clock. my truck only has 14 000 miles on the clock and has already had a gearbox build. they have totally different shifter feels (both are not great). the Australian built Holden Commodore also runs a T56 and the shifter in those feels very direct and firm, you know when you are in gear.

I want one too, but also with a T56 Magnum gearbox, probably around $9500 to $10 000 Australian dollars spend.

Years ago, I found a brass replacement for the plastic ball socket of the shifter. I found mine torn and made shifting difficult. It was an easy fix and made shifting very positive. I sorry I don't remember who made it. I hope this helps!

I recently installed one. It was relatively simple to install 6-8 hours. Transmission didn't have to come out, a small section of the tunnel has to be trimmed off to fit.

Only issue I had, the lever supplied was too short or too long.
