What is the best battery for my 2004 SRT-10 truck? Money is no object.

Honestly, an OEM Mopar battery would be a great choice. That, or an Optima "Yellow Top" or even an Interstate. To give you an idea how good the Mopar batteries can be, my 2012 (purchased Oct. 2011) RAM's battery lasted over 9 years!

I have had 3 Optima yellow top batteries for my RAM SRT-10. They did not treat me right. I went back to the standard battery. Note: I have only 19K on my truck. So, go with the OEM Mopar battery.

I have an Odyssey Battery. See the installation date Feb 2013. It has not always been well looked after. It is now. Disconnected and a small solar charger on it

In the US almost all the batteries sold are made by either Johnson Controls or Deka (now called east Penn). Interstate doesn't even make their own anymore, theirs are JC as well. Mopar is made by Johnson controls. Even optima is made by Johnson controls. Just go with the highest CCA rating, and the retailer that offers the best warranty.

Kiwi- As you are using Solar-Power for your SRT-10, you've inadvertently created a kind of Hybrid.

Saving the Planet one SRT-10 at a time.

I'm so proud of you right now !! :D

I have used Odyssey AGM's in my 2 boats, and several cars for over a decade. Used to be the maker of DieHard AGMs. Still have the original one in use in my boat for over 10 yrs now! Truck battery is about 6yrs old.

    Yes it does, most certainly
If all the house rooves (USA roofs) were painted white, silver or very light grey that would reflect a shit load of the suns energy back into space.
If every house was covered in solar panels and turned that energy into electi....elcet...elct....power that would make a huge difference to the amount of global warming caused by man.
If the greenies and govts were so sure it is all our fault, then why is no push or laws or subsidy for those two. Solar hot water is another one.
In NZ we have this rainbow touchy feely lefty govt that has even looked at any of these. For crying out loud, they have only just managed to get 20% of the population vaccinated.
Anyway climate change is natural and we will not stop the ice age from finishing or the new on arriving. It is all there in history. Here's an interesting read
    https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-47848344

Other than that I am fine....my truck is fine.....my wife is fine and I am off to work shortly to get my Pfizer jab. Fonterra have organised us essential workers to get Covid jabs as the govt can't

I worked seismic when I was a kid on the Northern tip of Ellesmere Island (north of the North-Pole), where the ice was reportedly a couple of MILES thick.

Coring ice that deep and analyzing it could bring out fascinating data and put to rest some of the current speculation.

For example, they should be able to prove once and for all that the Brontosaurus really DID run on diesel.

You are so right about the MOPAR batteries, as I keep buying another one every 3 years or so (because I like the sticker), even when using a "Smart" battery charger on it.

There has to be something better.

Speaking of batteries and performance- WTF?!?!? A Tesla Model S Plaid runs ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY-FOUR MILE PER HOUR 1/4s and kills the Demon Hellcat. I mean, in the video I watched, it doesn't even look like a race.

It is "almost" enough to make me want to pull my old Gen III and put it on display as an interesting mechanical device from a bygone era.

Then I could buy a LOT of batteries (likely not Mopar 12V) for the bed of my truck and place an electric motor at each wheel.

No doubt properly designed electric conversions will be BIG business in the not-too-distant future.

Gunna be offline for a few hours. I am in the process of adding an extra 8gb ram to both computers and also cloning HHD's on to new SSD's

I've used Macrium Reflect for all my Cloning chores, for years; Even the Desktop Icons end up in their original locations.

RAM is cheap and works wonders if your systems are currently maxed out and pitching chores to a HD.

Microshaft claims Win 10 needs 2 Gig minimum to operate (but they lie), as a bare minimum of 4 or more is better.

I went with 12 TB of SSDs on the A/V Server I built for myself (and others, depending on their budget). While multiple larger SSDs are still a bit costly, they are silent, cool(ish) and ultra-fast. And I don't believe they spew as much HF noise and nasty jitter-inducing RF as conventional drives do that can mess with all those pristine zeroes and ones headed for the external DAC.

    Good luck with the upgrade(s)

    Ronnie

Damn! I must've gotten a good one then - the battery in my 2012 RAM (built Oct. 2011) lasted until Jan. 2020.

That's the laptop done. Fitted a Crucial MX500 1TB SSD The 10 year old HDD will eventually fail and the 4 gb ram was too small for binge watching Neon streaming on the 10 year old TV so I added another 4gb into the spare slot. That should last me for a while. I am not a gamer. Last game I played was Red Alert on win95 hahaha
