Yellow Fever For Sale

I am back on the road. Nolathane bushes in sway bar and steering rack. Under-drive pulley fitted, all good. Is it any faster, maybe, I certainly can't tell. What I do know is it is a lot faster and uses less fuel than when I bought it. That for sure is a major improvement. The blurb on UD pulley's state 8-13hp at the wheel. That I am assuming is with the aircon on. All I know is basic physics says it does not have to work so hard therefore wastes less power, which is a good thing. Asshole stripes go on on Monday as they didn't have violet, commonly known as Plum Crazy Purple. I like the way that colour has been re-energised into something bad.

Good to hear your sled is back on the road. When I added the JTSV smaller underdrive pulley and BBK TB, I noticed a big difference in response time. Only downside is, if headlights are on and AC at the same time, sometimes the amp gauge drops down a little.

I am using it for work this week so it will be interesting if I can detect any difference. Not need AC here. Because the UD Pulley is the only mod at this time I doubt if I will notice anything, but I will be watchful. The biggest clue would be slighty better fuel economy. The power steering was very twitchy too and extremely light. I will see how it goes I may get the pressure reduced to firm it up. I have had a few wild moments in the past with super light twitchy steering. Had a couple of tank slappers.

Gooday'

After lots of testing on the Dyno, that particular pulley size was chosen to be the best compromise between additional power and charging with accessories on at idle.

Can't think of a cheaper way to add 10+ hp.

Don't be skeered, it won't leave you stranded.

Why is your steering light, did you go with an aftermarket power steering hose or did someone do a bad alignment?

So Scare!

There can be other reasons for the twitchy steering. With some of the Left to Right Conversions there can be some not so flash engineering, or even the flipping of racks can upset the stability. With steering boxes sometimes it has been that the straight ahead is not in the right place, when you have a variable rate box. Also the wheel ruts in the road here cause a problem with cars on fat tyres. I have been told after 265 the steering chases the ruts in the road caused by the big trucks. I have noticed that it is better. I will also have the pressure checked and reduced if need be.
Other than that truck feels great and real keen to GO!!!! So much fun $450 of gas gone in 3 outings hahaha.

Hmmmm.
Interesting comments about right-hand conversions and twitch. Getting that "alignment" right would be key.

We have a few right-hand drives cruising around up here, but with the city infrastructure built for a left-hand drive vehicle, I've also noticed some "twitch" from kids yelling from the wrong side of the vehicle at the Drive-through burger joints.

Hope you get it sorted and can drive that unit with a big smile!

Keep it just under 265, problem solved.

Without equal pressure on all fours, I've witnessed some strange vehicle dynamics with these trucks (like changing lanes by themselves). True story.

I'm in the bush at work but my wife (Grandmother x 6) is having a blast driving the silver bullet and tormenting unsuspecting victims.

I shall put some 265x80x17 tyres on it that would be hilarious. Might stop the front tyres from hitting in the top of the guards. I think the bump stops are too low for the 22" wheels. That is another project.
It is a lot of fun to drive, I just have to be a bit careful.
