I've had Islides for years but finally found a shoe in my size that wasn't too over the top...... imo lol......
Any chance you have dealt with Venemous1 racing in Texas ? And do you know any places in the west BC/Alberta that do work on these trucks, that you would recommend ?
I've have not dealt with Venomous1 in Texas. I live in Alberta. What kind of work would you like done?
If so, find a reputable Diesel Performance place that is familiar with the 48RE, and go with a "stout" diesel build as they are the same transmission. I'd also suggest a (good) convertor in the 26-2800 stall range. It makes these trucks WAY more fun to drive and much more responsive for around-town driving. If you have a 6-speed, disregard the above.
05 QC, If the trans is built should the diff gears be done too ? Especially with a stall at that range ?
The Dana Super 60 Diff is tough; unless you are planning an unholy amount of power, it can be left alone. Modern convertors are considerably more efficient than those of years gone by. There is no perceivable "slip". A 26-2800 Convertor isn't at all radical, and wont cause the drivetrain any grief.
