Hydraulic Fan Power Steering fittings

What is your job ?
Work as a travel tech for a company that builds electric vehicles and we have many customers to see. Part is traffic and part is traveling. My first year i never met a team member it was all thru the phone.

It is probably the best option if it as I stated previous about being able to control the engine temps in all situations..
it is a cleaner set up , eliminates the hydraulic crap .
As for power and gas mileage it won’t actually increase either as it doesn’t add either ,,,, It does remove parasitic drag used by the hydraulics and frees up existing HP for the engine to run easier utilizing the power better to the rear wheels while in improving mpg .. same thing hen using different pulley size combinations to reduce parasitic drag from other things like, water pumps, alternators etc. the thing with doing those is a compromise has to be made for different driving situations.. those mods are most for racing .
That does seem like the next best option if all fails on my side.

These are the next fittings with the o rings got them from jtsv let's see how they hold i was barely able to do this yesterday while still being sick I just can't leave it for tomorrow. But when I get home I'll creep up the truck is jack stands and see if it seeps. Then I can try running the truck and also wait and see.

No argument there. Totally agree. The performance statements are claimed by the vendors not me.

The issue with the original set-up was a terrible design from the get go. Point is, if it would have been a winner they would still be using it. Not so much. Electric fans are the cure for a really bad design by Chrysler. My application was strictly done to eliminate a piece of work from the Rube Goldberg Engineering Department @ Chrysler.

Sounds interesting .. I know the feeling as when I was in the golf industry and the corporate life .. I was sent place to place from Texas to Florida up to SC for months to a year or so at a time at a time . You meet people and then you get transferred again . That’s the bummer part of it .. I was a workaholic my entire life and only took had 1 vacation in my life when I was 22 for a honeymoon ( OUCH THAT HURT LOL ). I WOULD CHANGE A LOT KNOWING WHAT I KNOW I KNOW NOW .

Keeping my fingers crossed it works this time ..

Yes, it was a terrible design and just opened up for more problems added parts and such .. I’m in full agreement with adding the kit as long as it covers my concerns .
1200$ s still a good amount IMO and others I’m sure especially in todays inflation .. but looking at it as eliminating the poor design and the problems like a can’t stop leaking fitting it would most likely be worth the change ..

I need to eat healthier because I constantly get sick and haven't taken a vacation since about 5 years and prior in my 20s never took one bad management of money and bad choices. But 2025 trying to see if I can change a few things.

I have been watching the value of SRT's and the ones that have not been used and abused (getting more difficult to find every day) the prices have been increasing. Not so much for the ones that have been modified by some Ricky The Racer. Point is, I have been doing what I consider to be "upgrades" and improvements to my PU to hopefully do away with the not so good designs.

My truck is an 04' and has about 60k on the clock. The math shows that to be 20+ years now. It had been maintained but many of the areas that needed to be replaced or fixed over the previous 2 decades were were not done.

I had a very interesting discussion with William Adams a retired engineer from Chrysler. He was on the original team of engineers that were assigned to the VIPER development. He was also involved with the development of the SRT PU. He is a wealth of information regarding its creation. He is quick to remind you that it is a very Hi-Performance vehicle. Not so much a 1/2 ton pickup. And with that performance comes the needs to watch for age and use of components is necessary. Shocks, U-Joints, front end steering parts, wheel bearings, rotors and calipers, cooling fan issues, spark plug wiring, etc etc etc.... All of those parts are subject to a more aggressive use than the Senior Citizen in their Toyota Camry.

But back to my point of value, if these items have either been fixed, if broken, or have been up-graded along the way it is all part of an investment that could well result in a positive return on that investment over time while providing the owner with all of the fun of having, what was described on the TV program as a Silly Ridiculous Truck....SRT.

In my opinion the good SRT's that have been well maintained and up-graded will be increasing in value.

Excellent post .. I myself have only done things that improve and have never abused my truck .. back in the 70’s i couldn't stand anything to replace that was a pain in the ask and knuckles .. so I simply what I could to make things easier to work on and redesigning things for access . I like being able to stand up straight and change oil filters , plus , wires .. stainless steels was great at replace the dash board , custom console , wheel wells and rear tubs in my 73 duster .. certain engine components were change to simply removal or replacement of things … today vehicles you can’t even see the engines under the hood .. years ago they start that garbage in a attempt to eliminate the home mechanics ..

My 10 only has a few things that need fixing .. cheapo plastic used when built and now 20 years later becomes brittle and cracks or breaks .. other than that I have a short suspected in the audio system I haven’t tried to find yet and the factory paint was terrible if the truck is in the elements so it needs to be painted …

That’s a tough thing to do ,, Eating healthy lol .. Nobody ,the supposed experts on nutrition are a joke and when you counter them the use the WELL JUST EAT IN MODERATION LOL . What the heck does moderation mean ? Each persons nutritional requirements are different ..

Read labels and try to figure out a Heart healthy diet lol a diabetic diet or high cholesterol diet lol…. You’ll starve to death and end up draining your electrolights lol .. low salt/sodium is in everything , Sugar is in everything then they add more lol and on and on .. that crap drives me nuts.. saturated fat is everywhere lol ….

I'm in California so I have been subjected to harsh weather. Mine is the Silver. It is actually looks pretty good in condition but I think I will look into have one of those new clear 3 M coatings put on it. They are seeming to be getting good reviews. It is also in the garage. I bought it from a private party in the Portland Oregon area.

When I bought it a couple years ago I decided I would go thru all of the "preventative" items that had not been tended to over the years as well as replace those "wear" items that should have been taken care of earlier. Replaced the shocks with OEM Bilstein pieces. The chassis strut. Did the front and rear U joints. Front wheel bearings. Upper and lower control arms and all of the other front end components. Serviced the rear end and trans. New vented rotors and went thru the calipers. Tires. Not everything needed to be replaced but I decided that because having 20+ years on it, I would head off any future issues.

I spent about $1500 on those parts and did a lot of the labor myself. But I figured it would be good to go for as long as I would be owning it. I doubt that I will put a couple thousand miles a year on it. At most. As you know, they are not a paractical 1/2 ton pickup. Just the opposite. But they are sure fun to drive. Nothing will put the smile on my 81 year old face faster than to ruin the day of some clown in an M Beamer.

I’m the if it ain’t broke sort of guy ,, but when it comes to the 10’s it probably a good idea to at the least have the parts on hand . The only thing I have had a problem with on the front suspension was what I though was the lower ball joints clunking sound .. I bought the ball joints before checking it out . And the ball joints were good on the truck .. when I was looking I notice the drivers side sway bar link was actually broken at the ball joint section . You couldn’t see it was broken unless the truck was jacked upper the control arm . So I replaced both sides and no more clunk .. I still have the ball joints just in cares ,, I also have a caliper rebuilt kit I bought years ago just in case , but I do think I should just install them .
I also have the factory parts after replacing the CAI , throttle body and the automatic transmission valve body with after market ones . The truck runs great but looks like crap due to the paint ..
I’ll be lucky to reach 81 the numbers are playing against that ..,good for you reaching that age and still getting things done..

Great posts everyone!! All
On track and make sense

This is this night went to inspect and the seep is better than previous I did add a bit of teflon tape. I also have the liquid type. But I may run it may add a stop leak and see if it improves for now it is an improvement so far. Need to add gas i belive i have about 3 miles left i know smh.
