Maybe just some residule from the previous leak . Were thendrops from the fittings area ?Update went for a test drive about 20 miles. Got back and checked. Fittings only had 2 small drop let's. I think it's fixed at this point I did add power steering stop leak.
Give it a bit more time ,, heat and any residual should clear up as it sets in .. keep an eye on it thats for sure ,,Update went for a test drive about 20 miles. Got back and checked. Fittings only had 2 small drop let's. I think it's fixed at this point I did add power steering stop leak.
I had cleaned the area and run a few times before the actual test drive.Maybe just some residule from the previous leak . Were thendrops from the fittings area ?
Its appears very small with only 2 drops in 20 miles ..
I thought that .. so it does need to still be checked and hope it compltely stops dripping .. heat could expand things and seal it .. amcouple drips isnt bad at this time .. Where did the drips come from ?I had cleaned the area and run a few times before the actual test drive.
When i ran it i had it up to operating temperature. Reved it also to create more pressure. And no drips where seen did that 2 times before the actual test drive. But if it still needs to be perfectly seal I may need to add a few more turns i did 3 turns on teflon tape at the fittings threads. May need 2 more turns to completely seal un less i should do 3?I thought that .. so it does need to still be checked and hope it compltely stops dripping .. heat could expand things and seal it .. amcouple drips isnt bad at this time .. 2 1/2 wraps with teflon tape and put on with the proper direction on the thread is usually sufficient from my understanding .. putting the teflon tape on in the wrong direction of the threads tends to cause a improper seal .. ive done that before . Sometimes it leaked other time not hahaha !When i ran it i had it up to operating temperature. Reved it also to create more pressure. Withoit a doubt ,, the PS hose on the trucks are a pain and garbage from the factory . Seems they all seep or blow out .. mine did .. also had the replacements blow out twice up near the pump .. make amheckmof a mess under the hood .. the set on now has been holding up for years .. knock on wood ..Yeah I have also done where I go against the thread and it comes right off. But it i got it figured out. Just like you stated I'll keep an eye on it go from there but this a vast improvement. I've owned this truck now September 6 2022 and prior to my crash on August 2 2022 i owned my first truck since 2019 and both had this issue its been years since I can at least get to this point and for me this is a win. I was going to quit on it for a while and spend the money on the trans am that also needs attention and I've owned that car since 2007 or 2008.
oh for sure the mess was like yeah I'll clean it up when I can just accept it happened and when I'm ready I'll clean it lol. I lost motivation due to just as this truck it's an arm and a leg now to restore and replace parts for the trans am and this truck who would've thought one of the most less liked generations of trans am now is getting attention sucks for me to have made such bad life choices because if I hadn't I would have had my trans am driveable by now. But I stepped away even from the forums on the trans am/camaro and I have to 2025 this year to get back in even to dedicste 15 to 30 minutes every day it adds up to chip away and get progress done. So I can enjoy this truck and the trans am.Withoit a doubt ,, the PS hose on the trucks are a pain and garbage from the factory .
