My parts came in today , damn that was fast !
Went out to install the Battery Temp Sensor on the Dakota ... It is under the battery and mounted through the battery tray just pop it out , unplug the connector and reinstall the battery , check codes .. Simple 15 minute job looking at it hahahaha !
Freaking thing is a pain in the ask .... you cant run the wire and connector through and under the battery tray, no hands are that small .. They force you to remove all the bolts 6 of them , some hidden .. I had to remove the fuse box as its connected to the tray and the last hidden bolt under it .. the tray is still in there tight as heck and finally got it high enough to put the new sensor in .
To think thats all there was I found that the wires from the huge harness were broken completely to the sensor ..DAMN ! I then had to splice in the old harness connector .. barely enough wire to do that .. no idea how they got broken .. The code has been there a long time ... Well as tight as the area is putting the battery back in is a must to be extremely carfull not to pinch any of the wires, harness , hoses and fingers hahaha .. I tested for codes and oh my there all gone for the first time I check them decades ago hahaha .. the big But is will be if the codes dont return after putting some milesmon the truck .. fingers crossed , knoocking on my head !
Since the wires were broken to the sensor connector Ill say I know have a spare sensor in the pic hahaha !
Ill say it again ,, GIVE ME THE OLD DAYS and I'll add ,,,, Hang all the automotive designers from the old oak tree !
Next : TPS , UPSTREAM O2 Senors and still waiting for the ICA ( ACI ,AIC LOL )
But Poppa got a new pair of shoes ( Sandals ) today ..
