Grille Overslam Bumpers

Have 80+ when cool, still 74 when hot at like 1200rpm. Ronnie's engine is virtually the same so I am going to follow his advice. He runs 0/30 synthetic
Oil choice is bassed on climate and temperatures .. cold as hell in Canadia ,,, What are the temp ranges in your upside down neck of the world ....
I use the 15-50 mobil 1 in the hell hole of hatties Florida to cover the extreme heat and the cold days is covered by the 15 weight ... compare temp climate ranges of oils and what choices are the best ...
I lose way less oil between oil changes than I did with the 0-40 recommended factor recommended oil and didnt notice any difference in oip pressure ..

I'm also using a one-piece oil relief shuttle instead of the o.e.m. three-piece which added 12-15 p.s.i. of pressure I didn't want. That's primarily why I dropped to 0-30 from 0-40.
There is no oscillation with this shuttle and pressure is rock-solid.
The Gen IV Bearings and "bathtub reliefs" machined into the block also added pressure; although less than the one-piece shuttle provided.
70 p.s.i. at 7000 r.p.m. is fine.
Our pans have plenty of capacity and also benefit from an oil cooler.

Ronnie , would the 1 piece oil shuttle be benificial to a factory or slighly modded engine ?

There is unfortunately no solid answer.
I do know SOME of the Gen III Reliefs were oscillating and a single-piece shuttle used on later engines, put cavitation concerns to rest.
As mentioned, a single will increase oil pressure by nature of its design but may be trying to solve an issue that isn't there. It is/was engine dependant but enough of a concern that the switch was made by Dodge.

I am running a Boundary Racing oil pump. Why? I dunno. Crazy good oil pressure.
Anyway I will try this oil and if I don't like it, I will go back to 5/40 Penrite Synthetic

I didn't know what I was looking at either. looked exactly same as mine and I never changed anything there.
We learned something new about the trucks after 20 years hahaha

I'm sure feeling it lately lol

EVERYONE!!! Please check your rubber bumper thingys now that we know we have them! Hahaha
