2005 SRT-10 misfiring on cylinders 3 and 8

Another gloomy day here. Lots of floods in the far north of north island.
Supposed to be doing exercises. Getting there.
We get a lot of earthquakes and volcanic activity. We are on the edge of the Australian plate and the pacific plate. The scaremongers will tell you we are overdue for the big one. Lake Taupo was our big volcano. It just goes bang. The whole planet will get affected when that goes again
Yes, I (arguably) "grew up" in Vancouver B.C. and as the San Andreas fault runs through there, it used to give us a reminder of instability sometimes, with a small rumbler. Pics on the floor, model cars dismembered, etc.
Yes, Fear-mongers are "pretty sure" Los Angeles and Vancouver both will crack off one day as they share that same fault line.
A major quake like that isn't on my top 500 things to be concerned about.

No volcanic activity in Vancouver though.

I have been doing many things I'm not supposed to be doing (exercise topic only here) after surgery. Nothing abusive, but holy moly if you listen to some of those groups, I should have checked out a couple of months ago.

Why are you on the mend?

Yeah you wouldn't wanna be on a just a local anaeste....ante.....aneat...pain killer
Honestly, they were really pushing pain killers in the hospital and asked things like: "How are WE feeling today?". Maybe they were seeing double. Joking aside, they saved my life but no pain killers after surgery and none at home. I don't like them. No pain No Brain??
BUT, Im glad they used something Heavy Duty during the 2+ hour surgery.

Anyhow, it's a year or more to full recovery or so I'm told. The big one is the loss of strength to my Sternum. After it's cut in half with a Sawzall, it is wired back together; so if I want to regain full chassis integrity, I can't snap any wires before it's properly fused back together.
Push-ups are a no-no, for example.

And it sounds like you will also need some time for things to mend.
Hang in there (the exercise really does help).

Good thing about the push ups. No one likes doing those. I was heart broken when the Physio said no push ups. I can't go on a plane either.
Sounds like we are both train wrecks at the moment. I had 8 hrs in surgery (not that I knew)
Did they put some pipe cleaners through the rest of the arteries give them a bit of a clean out?
Can you notice any difference with the new blood flow?

No Push-ups...a real heartbreaker (Haha).
Why no planes for you??
8 hours is a long haul for you (and of course the Surgeons!)
No pipe cleaners used that I was aware of.
I'm not on the regular trio-of-terror meds either: (blood thinner, beta-blocker and statins) like I'm "supposed to be", but just a "sort of" thinner from time to time, and that's it. It's made from
ground Scorpion (true story) and is currently being studied at the Cardiac Center in Toronto. Chinese medicine from a Chinese Doctor I was introduced to a number of years ago. He is also a Western Medicine Doc, so best of both worlds.

My wife also noticed the change in circulation.
Also an improvement in hearing and eyesight (listed in order of importance) ;)

As for differences with the new and improved blood flow.. getting quite personal here but.. my wife definitely noticed it, and after 48 years of marriage (as of yesterday), that's an endorsement and a half! :)
Oh, then an improvement in hearing and eyesight (listed in order of importance) ;)
Had an artery in neck damaged and there is a risk of clot falling off repair and stroke etc. There was quite a bit of loose blood in neck and shoulder etc. Was on Aspirin (willow bark) a blood thinner. Still have to sleep in recliner chair. Planning a trip in the next year maybe. Maybe Alaska, Hawaii a bit of more of Canada.
Still have shoulder to sort out. Maybe more surgery, hope not. I will be out of action til Christmas

Yeah, blood flow and clot prevention are 2 biggies for sure.
If you land in Calgary, let me know.

Yes, I've heard Venus has been abnormally hot so far this year (800 F.) and residents are complaining. Apparently they believe Global Warming on Earth is affecting their climate as well.
No one really NEEDS Volcanic activity nor Earthquakes, so hopefully you will be spared any of that in your part of the world.
She's menopausal hahaha

Wow you really got jacked in that wreck!! So glad you're still here to talk about it even though I'm sure it's not any fun for you!!

Same with Ronnie! Not having you both here with us would have been a major tragedy to our forum family.

So both of you / keep on truckin!!

They definitely push the pain meds in every situation these days!! Us older fogeys usually try and refrain and use the old fashioned push through the pain method which can work if your mind is set on it working. So many end up with substance abuse issues that can be traced straight back to an unfortunate turn of events that started with simple prescription pain pills

Go Fogeys!!

We can turn the thread back over to its original poster when he updates us on the white smoke from 3 and 8 or let's us know he's got her home safely!! Hahaha
