    Help?

yes I am in the orlando area but where would I find a bolt on replacement motor for $3500? if you know of any I'm all ears man. At this point though I'm leaning towards parting it out completely unless I get a decent offer for the whole thing. I figure with all the pumps and everything...

    Help?

I'm going off what the guy told me I dont know what constitutes a complete loss for engines. I figure since some major parts inside the engine are broken that it makes sense. I can't imagine it'd be worth anything but I'm sure nothing punctured the block seeing as it had so much escape room (the...

    Help?

damage = threw a rod and annihilated some pistons. There was a large hole in the oil pan the motor is a complete loss. Truck itself = 59k miles on it and around November 2010 the clutch and slave cylinder were replaced with OEM parts. So every imaginable component is in perfect working...

    Help?

So I was driving down the interstate last friday and my motor exploded. Shop says it's a complete loss and will cost roughly $12000 to get her running again. Anyone think they can beat that price? or have any reccomendations as to what to do with the thing? I love the truck but it's given me...

    Can you name this part?

Unfortunately I can not. The hose attached to it went missing after my last dealership incident. I freaked when i noticed it. I'm not a mechanic but I know what the pump is... I just don't know what this nozzle is or why its missing it's tube. Though this probably explains my very...

    back to the stealership...

had to make a lot of stops one morning. Everytime I turned the truck on it seemed like it struggled more and more to turn over. sounded very much like a dying battery though I knew it wasn't since I just replaced the battery and negative terminal (the one in question of course) exactly as I...

any ideas on what other issues to look for? or what the true cause of this may have been?

finally got the pics! these were the best two the wire is exposed from the frame down into the bundle that leads straight into the firewall. not visible anywhere else and I have limited electrical knowledge on the grand design. I have no idea past the first foot how far down the burn through...

    back to the stealership...

yep it's on the passenger side near the top of the engine bay on the frame, bundle intersects at about 10in. or so I can't remember to what but that goes into another intersection which passes through the firewall. I personally can vouch for the wire being burnt completely through from the frame...

lol the breakdown is 3 hrs labor + 10% parts charge (so it's a $30 single wire) plus tax dude said is like 340something rounded it to $350. the 3 hrs of labor is what I'm questioning, does it take a technician 3 hrs to cut back a bundle cover and gain access to the whole deal under the glove...

    back to the stealership...

as it stands I'm going to ok the $350 single wire job unless someone can give me official (like shop technician etc) evidence to claim excessive charges. On the flipside of this, I was expecting this one job to be a $1k+ issue involving an entire new harness so I'm still pretty excited it's...
