Thanks Ronnie for the detailed answer definitely makes sense and I agree with you. People are less inclined to do the not so fancy work that dosent yelled any gains. I’ve done the coolant with hoses and 180 t-stat years ago so it probably wouldn’t hurt to do it again. Not because of mileage but...
Thanks Ronnie I appreciate the info. I don’t have any air bubbles in coolant and no milk shake in the oil or water draining from oil pan. Played with it today and looks like the cap is leaking under certain conditions as well as seepage from the upper radiator hose. So going to start with those...
I’ll give it a shot. It’s leaking a pretty decent amount to where I have to keep it topped up or gets too hot. Luckily it’s never overheated. Are the oil and PS air or water cooled?
Ok cool I’ll look at that then! The rubber on it is a little torn but didn’t look like it was leaking. I’ll probably order a new one and see if that fixes it thank you!
Does anyone have any common locations for coolant loss on the 04? Mine constantly loses coolant despite no visible signs of coolant loss. Truck does not overheat, no sweet smell of burning coolant or white smoke on idle or load. I do have leaking PS lines so not sure if the PS cooler is water or...
I installed the shifter yesterday but didn’t drive the truck. The 2 main differences are the obvious shorter handle, and the handle is chrome not brushed. The chrome isn’t bad and it reminds me of the cars of the 70’s so it’s pretty cool. The handle feels night and day better but that’s also...
Yea I actually looked through that post and on some of the sites including JTSVP. Unfortunately only thing I could find was a site sort of like x2 builders that listed the isolator but was out of stock. I ended up buying a replacement shifter that eliminated the isolator entirely for about $180...
Does anyone know where I can find a new shifter isolator? The rubber piece that goes in between the shifter handle and the shifter itself. Mine is completely disintegrated and the handle just slops side to side. I’ve called Hurst and they’re useless told me they don’t have any info or sell parts...
I know this isn’t very interesting but I haven’t posted here in 40 forevers so I figured I’d share that I replaced my recirc door on my 10 the other day. Man what a PITA that was! Took me about an hour an 100 curse words to get that amplifier out and then after getting it back in, my 10 mm...
Alright that's pretty much what I thought, it really pissed me off at first but then like y'all said at 14 years of sun exposure it just fails like anything else. Thanks guys and glad to see the forum is still active.
