That depends. Are u just going to use it for cooling or heating aswell?

1 poly loop is 3/4 pipe tjat is300'long. With a 180 elbow in the middle. So 150' down, and 150' back up. That is equivelant to 1 ton.

So it would take 5 hole at 150' deep for that.

Cooling does not take as much tonage as heating in geo since the ground stays around 56.5 degrees.

To do it cheaper, since our drill rigs are 700k, you can do horizontal loops and install them with a trencher at 5' atleast or as deep as u can go. It is much cheaper to install, but requires more land and more loop in the ground. A horizontal ton is 250' there and back.

Or if u live on a privatly owned lake that is yours, u can put in pond loops. But it has to be so manyacres and so deep at the dryest shallowest time of the year.

Besides that all u need to do is buy a geo unit and a flow center wirh hose kit. Maybe a little duct work. But that all depends. 1 unit does both heating and cooling. For a five ton that would proly be between 7-10k. Depending of course. But i got some connections and could might hook u up if the planets align just right.

There is more to it than that...but thats the jist of it. Let me know if u want more info bro.

I’m a nuclear operator for Duke Energy at the Catawba Nuclear Power Plant. The best way to put it, I’m Homer Simpson. I'm bored all the time, but thats a good thing. If i'm not bored at work then its a bad day to live near a nuclear plant. :D
