I never felt a difference with T/H mode on or off on the launches. Just the method that I have done and gotten used to. I don't brake torque for that long. I stage the first light and wait for the other driver to fully stage. After he lights up the second yellow I finish staging and bring...
You have to keep it in tow/haul mode or else it will shift right at the line for high 12's. I would hit the button after it shifted into second. It cost me .1-.2 on my time when it shifted into OD. My best 60 with street tires was 2.1 with 13.2 @105. DR's 1.9...12.9 @109:rock:
And even that is pretty vague. What you modify in the diesel trans will not necessarly work in the SRT one. They share the same name but have different mothers.
Lookin real good! For brake fluid I would go with a DOT 5 or higher if it exist. It will give you a higher boiling point and be better for when you are able to take your truck to the track!
It is actually a Camper Custom with I believe an 8.5' bed and yes it is 2wd. I just need to talk to Brooks dad to get more details on it. I think with it being a 3/4 ton it hurts the value a little bit. But I bought it mostly for Brook. Her dad promised that truck to her.
Right now I was...
Yep lots of potential. Talked to a guy in a 72 chevy with a stroked 350. When we raced it was a drivers race.
Had too. I got laid off and I could not turn this truck down. The dad sold the truck to someone else and he was putting it up for sale.
I put about 18 lbs in mine, launch from 1800-2000 rpm, wait for that neck snaping shift into second, and don't forget to put it in tow haul mode so you don't shift into overdrive before the finish line. A line lock is a good investment if you race it a little bit. The side gears & spider gears...
The SRT should be at its new home by now:( The buyer lives in Houston and picked it up Sunday. My new toy is a 68 GMC. It still needs some work done to it. I can't do anything with it right now but I do have plans for it:burnout:
The cool thing is this truck belonged to the...
Everything seems to be clicking right along. My truck will be sold to a guy in Houston and he is planning on picking it up this Sunday. He has already signed up to the site. Don't know if he has posted anything yet. Hopefully he will post up when he takes delivery.
I did enter it in the...
If you want a QC mine is for sale and I am about 465 miles from you. I know it is not the deal you are looking for. It isn't a RC and it is not at a dealer.
