I completely agree. Manifolds can even be better if you acid etch internally to bring up the volume about 15% and have them Jet Hot coated. Great flow on a stock engine and no headaches. I can appreciate your statement. Do you have dyno proven or trap speed differences to show the power...

    Bbk Tb

^ This is right on... there are ALOT of issues when over revving this engine. My shift light is set at 5600 RPM.

    Bbk Tb

What a bummer. Sorry about your engine failure.:( Question, have you been able to determine why you lost multiple main bearings? Usually it is due to cavitation, even for a moment. Any clues or pictures? Where the rod big ends blue? Cheers!

    10 Quickest SRT10's

Yeah, stock is neat in itself. The truck made a statement in 2004. A touch quicker in 2005 with 4:56 axle. However, picking up a 1/2 second with proven, simple, reversible and reliable bolt on's really makes an impact on overall drive-ability. Like I've stated before, my buddy with a 2017 392...

    My girlfriend

This is great! Yes, sometimes I swear I feel like the Duke's driving the Superbeast. I uncovered the truck and took my 8 year old out for a spin. The cool Arizona night air was keeping the engine happy and my son exclaimed how he felt like he was going fast like "Sonic". The wife will not go for...

    what year to look for

Funny, I have had NO issues. Must be a "Rust Belt" issue. I do not have moisture or corrosive environment issues (Ocean, rain , salt, snow). Another reason why the chassis is so clean ;)

    Push rod mushroom :-(

Question, have you ever "over-revved" the engine? Say over 5500-6000 rpm? Cheers

    transmission rebuild

Re; transmission fluid, are you using Amsoil Synthetic ATF? If not, what type? Cheers!

    SCT fined.

Wow! Looks like the great tune files I and others have from Torrie are more valuable.

    what year to look for

Simple, THE 2005 RC. Bigger 4 piston calipers up front and 4:56 gears that the 2004 does not have. Lighter than the 2005 quad cab with better handling and traction (lower and has the unique slapper bar and kicker shock with stiffer leaf springs). Lighter that the 2006 without the TIPM...

    Hmmmm

I read your posts. Just do not have a position to comment on them. Yeah, like most forums, they have faded into the all consuming black hole of Fakebook.:D

    FS: BNIB B&M Shifter

You are quite the class act are you not? I would beg to differ on the "long winded" comment. Simply "comprehensive" and not intended for simple minded individuals. If I may say, the B&M was not a "waste" of money. Obtained the B&M due to the fact that the Gen II was not available when I first...

    FS: BNIB B&M Shifter

I would surmise you did not read my post. I own both the B&M and JTSVP Gen II shifters. They both have their + / -. The B&M is a GREAT upgrade from stock that is very driver friendly and allows any handle you choose to fit. Vast improvement over the wet noodle factory Hurst. If you want the...

    FS: BNIB B&M Shifter

Please, tell everyone where you can buy one of these shifters new. If you can, how much? Even nicely used and "un-obtainium" brings an extra value to a great add on component. Indulge us :hmmmm:

    FS: BNIB B&M Shifter

NICE! Good to see an "unobtainium" B&M hit the classified's. I still have mine. It was in the truck for a few thousand miles before I got the JTSVP Gen II. It's still like new and in the original box. Overall I feel this shifter is the best choice between the mushy stocker and the rigid Gen II...

Stage 2 traction kit & sway bar endlinks install

The two best mods I have done to obtain excellent street traction and maintain handling with OEM Pirelli tires is Poly leaf spring bushings on the front and rear eyes along with shackles and the QA-1 Kicker shock set close to max. Most of the slop and "rear steer" is from the soft, OEM rubber...

    2â€￾ drop shackles

1st. shackles are NOT for an RC. No, my truck is not lowered. It actually came up a "touch" with the ploy suspension bushings. It handles so much better also

    2005 SRT10 2k miles in salvage yard

Yes, historically, stock rocks. :) However, a few, simple high end bolt on's do not hurt either. Especially if you retain ALL the stock parts. (EX: Exhaust / TB / UD Pulley / A/F Wideband / SCT / Shifter ) Not butchered and about .5 second faster!! :burnout: Cheers!

Where to find new kicker shock?

There is no functional issue with utilizing the QA-1 as a horizontal shock. The ONE example you stated most likely had a secondary issue that induced a failure. Like improper installation or another suspension issue. Unless you a purely drag racing the truck and do not take street / track...

Where to find new kicker shock?

The stock slapper bar assembly is VERY effective. It takes over 5,000 lb. per square inch of force to bend the slapper 1" !! The slop you feel is in the leaf spring eye bushings. I replaced the leaf eyes and rear shackle bushings with polyurethane bushings along with the stock kicker shock with...
