    Venomous1 da man!!!

    I use the same set up as Rotten Ronnie. RX / McNally 32 oz. closed loop with one way check valves for constant draw under all conditions. I also use the metered nipple on the drivers side valve cover for draw and the factory fresh air feed on the passenger valve cover. You can see the set up in...

    Fuuu! Again ?

    68K is way too early for a cat to melt away and clog your exhaust. There IS a reason for it. Bummer it caused a domino effect. Any news?

    Fuuu! Again ?

    Do your forensics, you will see.......;) I'd bet that the high crank case pressure situation compromised the engines ability to properly maintain oil flow. It only takes a few moments to initiate bearing damage. :( The manufacturer's intentionally run engines rich to prevent the platinum...

    Fuuu! Again ?

    Just reviewed your thread re; your issue with the truck at the dealer. The clogged cat's could be the origination of your current issue. The extremely high crank case pressure may have disrupted the oil flow and caused indirect cavitation. The cat's "melting" to the point of clogging could be a...

    Fuuu! Again ?

    This issue sounds like a bummer. Yeah, you are having more problems than usual. When it comes to the "spun bearing" or "seized bearing". The reason for the bearing failure does not originate with the "bearing". (Unless it was installed improperly during a rebuild.) Big end rod failures are...

    Air Intake {2005}

    I will agree that the K&N filer media is hands down an improvement in flow. I run a drop in in my stock set up. It has been stated here that it is worth something like 5-8 h.p. in the stock air box. Where I begin to challenge the CAI kits is in overall improvement in CFM flow and intake...

    Air Intake {2005}

    Placebo Effect. (Intake noise) I'd challenge anyone with a side by side comparison. K&N CAI vs. Stock Intake with front block off scoop in place of course. I'd see two things, the OEM intake would have an over all cooler intake temp...ESPECIALLY when underway. It simply does not draw from the...

    Air Intake {2005}

    Yup! Timing starts to get pulled at 104 F intake temp.

    Air Intake {2005}

    Do your diligence and do and search of this site re; CAI and OEM CAI. The SRT team did NOT put a restrictive intake on these trucks. You may obtain more intake noise from an aftermarket CAI, however, it will not be as cool (temperature) as the stock ambient draw. Like V1 stated above...

    oil leak

    Well buddy, It's time to think about it :D...Close is for Horseshoes and Hand Grenades... 15W50 causes the oil/engine temperature to RISE. Hot "flow" is too thick/slow to cool the bearings. More FOOD FOR THOUGHT.... "• Oil flow is what carries heat away from internal engine components...

    oil leak

    Thanks for sharing your position on the Mobil 1 15W50 product. I used it for YEARS in my sport bike engines that specified up to a 50 weight with great results. However, as oil engineering has progressed, I've had better results from oil that offers less parasitic losses AND maintains wear...

    oil leak

    If you have been using the OEM recommended Mobil 1 0W40 syn. SN or even better the FS, your engine will be very happy. The 0W flows VERY quickly at start up and it provides excellent film strength in the event of a dry start. Read here...

    Moisture

    Moisture?!? I'm not sure what that is??? :D Seriously, I would assume your truck sits outside up there in the Northwest. Maybe have an assistant run a water hose over the cab while your inside to help locate the source. Good Luck!
