How do you know? Do you have an oil temp gauge?

I'm doing the plumbing on my hot rod and was wondering if the stock oil cooler is the best way to go. Yes, it cools the oil, but it also heats the oil to whatever the engine temp is. Would an aftermarket finned cooler be better, it should dissipate the heat all the time through the fins...

Sorry for the lack of updates, The truck is coming along.. The chassis is done, just finishing up the sheetmetal work on the cab. Hope to have it done by next summer.

I could be wrong here, but I believe you are better off buying a 05 or 06. Pretty sure the 04's have smaller brakes on them.
