I had a fun weekend at The Texas Mile, new record was set @ 278+ by Patrick O'Gorman, a nitrous vette went up in flames, and a Wrx thought he was cleared for takeoff. No one was hurt, and I got about 5 runs in each day. I drove a couple of vipers and ended up with a best of 177.3(148.1) half...
the ARP kits and a bottoming tap is all you need. just use the tap to clean the threads that arent used by the head bolts and the studs will screw all the way down. Get the ARP studs for the gen 2 they are the same.
arguing on the Internet no different than running the Special Olympics who ever wins is still 6500 a f****** retarded. I think this build is a great example of what can be done the problem is is my stock motor made it through 60,000 miles and a 250 shot of nitrous. This motor clearly can preform...
being that it was a race engine I am assuming it had zero warranty. that being said the filter already has a 10k of mine and this is not the first engine he still for me or my family so I would assume he's going to stand behind his product. I want to know an exact cost first I'm not worried...
thanks for the offer that's awesome but thankfully this truck is nothing more than a race vehicle for me now, so no big rush to get it back together I'm pretty sure I'm going to need a crankshaft though which sucks.
I saw the Pistons come out today the rings are stuck to the Pistons somehow. they have basically the whole motor now and told me I would have an answer by Monday I'm just out to enjoy my weekend here in b'ville maybe if I'm lucky I'll still get my 180 t shirt.
got some friendly competition...
Its just racing bro, sometimes stuff doesn't work out. This truck will run again, and hopefully soon. I am not a patient person.
The oil starvation problem has been eliminated because the bearings and lack of burn marks on anything. The builder has said the damage is focused above the rings...
They have the motor back, with out a doubt they think that it some how ingested some foreign material. I have to send them some more stuff to inspect. Oil and water problem were eliminated bearings look ggod and oil is un burnt
running the motor was filmed by me, not the short block build.
But I did get her out after work today, I have tomorrow off so I will pull the other head and finish disassembly. Should know the exact issue tomorrow...
Yes I did, the hope right now is that I left a lot of room in the bore, so the block might be salvageable. The pistons I wont know till I see them. I'll know more tomorrow once I get the block back out.
It was an oiley watery mess when I first got the head off. I cleaned everything up and then wanted to see it turn over so i hooked the starter up and hit the button, that sprayed fuel all over because I didnt pull the fuel pump relay. That why it looks so clean once the pics were taken. All the...
