When I get a SRT QC, i am definately going to change it from a column shift to a floor shift. I was looking at different ways ppl changed their QC to a floor shift.

I was browsing RC on ebay, just curious, would a center console from a 06 RC fit in a 06 QC, in my mind it would be easier just to use the location of the shifter from a RC than to cut to put a shifter and move the cupholders in the QC.

I bet you have every picture ever posted on this forum..LOL....:p

If it deals with trucks.....:D

My concern is, the way the console is designed, I won't fit the 05 dash pieces well

Yo my man. On 06 and 06 only, you can certainly use a RC console in place of the QC part. The only part you need is the upper "lid" part. You should be able to make it work and look very nice. I would just buy it from the dealer. I bet they want under $200 for just the upper part. The stock QC lower section should be able to be cut and hacked to work fine. The cup holders are just relocated on the RC unit. The manual shift boot should be able to be lined up just fine. I actually did a lot of research when I had a QC. I was going to do the same thing. 06 makes it harder, but you will end up with an awesome oem fit/finish.

thanks man, just the answer i was looking for

I would have thought an 06 RC console could be made to suit a QC with relative ease, very easily infact. I just customised my 06 RC console to suit an automatic shifter, piece of piss to do. Hardest part for me was getting the misc items perfect (IMO) for me and my trucks style. Anyhow, it'll be an easy swap. I'm using a Hurst Promatic 2 truck shifter amongst other parts. Best of luck. Maybe make a "How To" thread for others looking at doing the switch.

(*Note: rear console lid isn't finished yet, hence it's now sitting properly.
I hate the huge 06 centre console so decided to remove 1 layer."

The 06 RC lid for the center console is $800.00. I considered this as an option but thought it was too much money. I ended up recovering my existing lid in leather.

Wreckers. ;) Fabricating stuff means quality doesn't "have" to be perfect. All you want is a base to start from.
Using what you have is also a good idea, just means you have to become a little more creative. :)

someone said i need a "upper" lid, what is that, or is that just the lid to the storage compartment?

No you need the upper section of the center console.....like where the cup holders are. It aint no $800, but you will have to go with like a regular 1500 ram version. Only difference if any is it wont have the shiny black paint around the outside. It shouldnt be too much.
