08 viper wreck / 5miles on odo

Unbelievable.

Equally interesting is that someone posted about hearing of the same thing happening to another one.

I think someone probably nailed the cause of the crash. It's another case of snakebite. The vette will come around just as fast with the traction control off.

The same thing happed at my dealer years ago. The owner took the first Viper they received out for a ride on some curvy back roads..he lost it and plowed through a field totaling the car............turned out he still made a large profit....Insurance paid for the car and the dealer bought the car back from the insurance co for something like $10K...he turned around and sold the wrecked car $40K to a guy that restores wrecked vipers....so the dealer ends up making $30K profit...a lot more than he would have if he had sold it for sticker...go figure...:dontknow:

The other day I test drove a Vette. The sales guy was all of 19 years old. After a couple minutes he says, "can I drive it?" I say sure. He immediately smokes the tires and drifts around a corner right in front of a cop. Get's pulled over and ticketed for exibition of speed. What a moron.

can somone transfer the pics... i cant view them due to not having an acount over there.. well thats the msg i get anyway

That'll buff out. :D

I wonder if the window sticker had anything to do with the wreck? Impaired vision? :dontknow:

50% of Viper wrecks are within the first 250 miles of ownership.

I have over 4k miles driving mine and can honestly say I am still scared of 1-2 powershifts. The thing goes all over the place, and heaven forbid it gets any grip, the car will just shoot where ever it is pointed.

and, yes, there was a snake green 08 that was wrecked by the owner pulling out of the dealership.

That motor will be on ebay before long:D Who's going to be the first to put one in our trucks:dontknow:

Well, it seems like some fortunate souls aren't effected by todays economy and can afford a 90 grand (plus) car only to take it out and destroy it because they can't drive it. That in itself is a shame

But whats really strange is the dynamics of how this all went down. He was seconds away from the dealer and of a sudden He loses controls and crashes into 4 cars. And I'm sure he was being conservative driving it. Are Vipers really that Sensitive??

i must say I know the porter of this vehicle. the viper is from my old dealership. The Porter who wreck it is a stand up guy and has worked there for a while. He was not fired and is healing well. I must say if i dont see this guy taking advantage of the situation to "Hot Rod" this vehicle. it appears it was nothing but an accident.
