I heard that 1 bar map are for NA and 2 bar are low boost then 3 bar above 10psi...............

Would it behove me from a tuning stand point to install a 2 bar map?

I assume you are tuned via the VEC. The VEC has a map sensor built in.

If you are going with the SCT, it will require the 2 bar map if you are a boosted engine. Heck, you can get the SCT, Map sensor, and the tune from Roe Racing.

Are you using water/meth injection? If so Sean has made a stand alone wire harness that is easy to install. It removes the need to have the VEC trigger the water/meth.

Yeah I was gonna go with Roe trigger or snows.......... and justins 2 bar or roes.
If you already have the ROE Water Meth kit, conversion is very easy. The supplied harness has you cut 2 wires, then splice in the harness and mount a switch. The hardest part was splicing into an injector wire. Figuring out which wire was a different color made my eyes hurt :)

A 1 BAR MAP sensor is one atmosphere or approximately 14.7 PSI. That is the pressure of the air at sea level we feel daily.

A 2 BAR is 2x a 1 BAR so Approx 14.7 PSI of boost.

A 3 BAR is 3x a 1 BAR so approx 29.4 PSI of boost.

Dumb question, but where do yo put the 2 bar map sensor? Do you replace the the 1 bar that is in the truck now? I have a ROE but not installed yet,and I already have a SCT,so my best bet would be talk to Sean and get a 2 bar map, a crank pin kit ,the trigger and harness for the water meth kit and get the ROE tune to make it all happen.

That would be my advice. I bet the harness to run the water meth as a stand alone is a little different than my conversion to stand alone. With that being said, I am sure ROE can make the harness and get you on the right track. They have been nothing but helpful in my dealings.

You need the 2 bar MAP sensor from a 2005 SRT4...about $25 at your dealer. It replaces the 1 bar sensor on your TB...requires a very slight modification to fit but I cant remember what it was. Roe can tell you what to do..

OK,easy enough, thanks for the info. I gotta pull my TB apart anyway for the new TB install on the ROE.

Yes the 2-bar map sensor is required with tuning the Roe supercharger with the SCT tuner.
I have this set up on my truck now. This sensor is zip tied to the wiring harness for the TPS and IAC sensors. A vacuum line from the map sensor runs back to and T's into the rear manifold pressure port.
I just recently had to change out my two bar sensor as it failed. Once a new one was installed everything has operated normally again.

Has anyone figured out a way to install the two bar sensor directly into the Roe intake?:dontknow:

Mine is mounted w/o zip ties or vacuum lines..:dontknow: ...........seems like we just had to file a small place and the sensor plugged right in where the stock one was....middle sensor in picture below..

I had it installed at my dealer. I called him this morning and he said that the best he can remember is he filed a small ridge off the connector. He said you would see what was keeping it from sliding into the connector. Sean Roe should be able to help you also. The sensor you need is for a 2005 SRT4.
