Local dealer just traded in a 2003 Viper Convertible silver with black top with 119 miles on it.

Gonna go check it out.

The thing that kills me about people selling there Viper's is it doesn't matter if it's a 2001 Conv. or 2006 Coupe with good miles, they want the same prices most of the time!
It doesn't make sense to me?

I guess it depends on what you consider "good miles". I know an 08 coupe with 78K miles that the owner is asking $45K while a Gen 2 (2001) with the same miles is in the high 20s to low 30s.

Good miles like 19,000 or less. I've seen a lot of '08 Coupes in the $63,000-$69,000 range with around 6,000 - 12,000 miles. So $45,000 for an '08 with 78k sounds about right.

Got the skinny

Car was stored for the last 11 years. It is literally brand new. It actually has 115 miles on it.

Its pretty amazing to see that Viper in the showroom next to a brand new Viper in the showroom lol.

They are asking 54k for it.

I think I'd find one with 20k miles for way less. Cars that just sit seem to deteriorate more than cars that are used and taken care of. Also I'd look for one with new tires, even though they have tread 5 year old tires are junk.

I ain't no mechanic but can tell you from experience that a car with that few miles and that age will give you engine problems. Some of the experts will most likely chime in but how could that engine not have a good amount or internal rust? Unless it was started often (weekly) the engine just has to have a good amount of rust. Maybe I'm wrong but for my buck I would look for one with more miles and pay a lot less.
