There is no external TPS sensor on the gas pedal itself for the hemis. The TPS is built into the throttle body component itself. You can calibrate the TB though through the steps I posted earlier. You do however have a cable that runs from your gas pedal back to the APP sensor which is under your battery tray. APP sensor = Accelerator Pedal Position sensor which tells the PCM what angle the accelerator pedal is at and then the PCM tells the throttle body to posistion the throttle plate accordingly. Adjustable pedals also tend to have the APPS right on the pedal. I doubt the APPS is the problem but if you take the truck in, make sure they check it if a new MAP sensor doesnt work.

Here's some info on the MAP sensor. Once I get outside I can take a better picture for you if you need it.

    5.7L V-8
The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor is
mounted to the front of the intake manifold air plenum
    box (Fig. 24).

Rotate sensor 1/4 turn counter-clockwise for
    removal.

Rotate sensor 1/4 turn clockwise for installation.

And like OSO said, you can try the key trick to find a code. Sometimes it will store codes and not actually display the light. The key trick wont work on all 04s, like mine, but it does on the newer 04s.

depends on the gas pedal. I believe if you have adjustable pedals then you gotta get the little box thats on the side of the pedal or the whole pedal itself. #1 is the APP sensor

If you have a normal gas pedal, then the sensor is under the battery. You will need to buy the whole assembly though, sensor and cable together but you dont need a new gas pedal.

#1 shows the apps cable at the pedal.

This is where the APP Sensor is located if you've got a regular gas pedal

This is to say if the APPS is even your problem.

Yes but your problem was created by people that should not be doing electrical work on vehicles.:D

I have never seen one just fail now i have replaced two one for being under water and the other from bad wiring for nitrous install.

Good luck hope that fixes it but I would go to the junk yard to get the peddle assembly your going to spend a small fortune at the dealer.

Its one piece if you are referring to the peddle assembly. you can take the board out of your peddle assembly and check for any visual damage.

And if your 04 is like mine with no adjustable pedal, you will not have the sensor on the side of your gas pedal like with James. It will be under your battery tray connected with a cable from your gas pedal. All you need to do then is buy the module thats under the battery tray if thats what the problem is.

to be honest - the setup that is in the 04 qc that my cuz has - is not like either one of them - there is a cable running off the top of the peddle over the break peddle and then into a little box with a sensor on it leading to the wireing harness

what ever it is - is beyond me, the truck was towed to dodge lastnight and is being looked at this morning

    thanks for all the help,

    Chris

wow, almost sounds like the pedal has been replaced once already. I've only seen it setup the way mine is and james' is. Good luck, let us know what the dealership says.
