I found this video on the third brake light which appears i am already wired for the third/ cargo setmup .. as long as the LED one Im getting isnt going to be a problem ,,, it should be good to go .. keeping fingers crossed !
I need the wiring diagram for the 2002 dakots third brake light and cargo light .. im still in limbo about the connector plug coming out of the roof to the connector for the light .. roof plug has 4 wires and light plug has 2 making it only for a brake light only operation now .. im hoping the wires from the roof side are wires for the cargo light operaion ..

That's the best way!Im not going to run and splice cut wires .. its not worth all that ! Plug and play is the plan ,if not then the factory light will stay .
