yeah i owned a 1997 TT supra when i got out of high school and owned my own business lol got rid of it first time i out ran a cop at 200mph they are fast as hell and sooo easy to get speed out of. granted mine wasn't in 1 mile and only think if i remember correctly was 18psi so had room to increase lol
Seems like he slowed down awfully fast from a top speed of 288. Think he would need more time and road than than even with good brakes. Parachute??? :dontknow:
That car makes a lot of power but he was only running 32 psi. On that turbo, GT47-88 he wasn't even in his efficency range. On a Supra a GT47-88 is easily capable of 1500+ hp. I am guessing he was running lower boost because of tire spin issues. From what I am understanding they are going to run more boost next year just ramp it up differently through the AEM. 40-45 psi in 4th and 5th gear no telling what it would top out at.
I suppose being this was a sanctioned event that there are some guide lines to what kind of tire they can run. From what I seen no was was running anything stickier than a normal street tire.
There is another member of the Supra forums with a very similar setup that intends to compete next year. If these 2 guys can hook up and start trying different things and compare data back and fourth between the 2 of them the mark might get set really high next year.
This is a Early Warning for the unlimited mile competitors...I know a viper owner who is building a TT car for this event......it will be stripped....lowered and have huge HP......I would not bet against this tuner......he already owns the street tire world record....
