My shop stocks the napa longlife it's red/orange we just call it dexcool when we order it or are talking to customers

use HOAT.....

Do not mix HOAT coolant and OAT coolants(Dexacool and any universal coolants) and do not use the universal coolant in any '02+ Chrysler vehicle since they are made to run HOAT coolants.

HOAT = low silicate based(based off of Ethylene Glycol)
OAT = no silicates(Dexacool and the like)
Ethylene Glycol coolant(old green stuff) = high silicate based

:dito: :dito: :dito: ...listen to this....very important.....

You can use any brand or type of coolant, technically...as long as you flush ALL of the old stuff out first if you switch types....

Damn:hmmmm: ,And to think it use to be just DRAIN & REFILL:mad: ....I guess my age is showing:eek:

remember...you have an all aluminum block, thats one of the reasons.

Makes no difference as far as coolant. My Gen 2 came from the factory with ethylene glycol (green in what is essentially the same aluminum block we have in our trucks), but I and many others flushed and refilled our Vipers with Dexcool (orange in an aluminum block). While I (and the OEMs) am a firm believer in extended-life coolant, it is possible to use any type as long as you aren't mixing them. So, you could go back to ethylene glycol-based in a Viper that came from the factory with HOAT, although I don't know why you would want to....

and remember 60%water to 40%coolant for mixture. 50/50 is good but your temps will creap a bit. I went to 70/30 since I dont drive it in the winter.

Well I decided to get the Mopar Anti freeze this time----Shit I am old, that stuff costs 30 bucks a gallon( lol last I remember it was about 7 bucks a gallon ,NOT already diluted)....Now looking at my old coolant it appears to be Orange not red in color, is this correct???? I bought the truck with 9800 miles on it, So I don't suspect it would have been changed before....The dealer told me it will only take 1 gallon.:dontknow: That did not seem correct so I bought 2 gallons...hope that will do the job....
Well now it's time to change the gear oil (Royal Purple 75W-140) only took me 100 miles to get it Just not my day:mad:

so we can flush what we have in there now and run dexcool no problems? Is the main advantage of doing that is longer lasting coolant? do you mix dexcool or is it just straight?

Yep, I did in my GTS, and so have several others. Mix it with distilled water. The main advantage is you can get it at Wally World for cheap, and not pay $30/gallon at the dealership! But both the Mopar and Dexcool are extended-life coolants.
