yes sir thats what i was hinting at i'm in the middle of shaving my calipers right now man what a PITA and its 40degrees out i can't feel my toes any more

By shaving the calipers you can only get 16" rims on.

By the time you shave enough to get 15" rims on, you have hit brake fluid. :argh: :argh: :argh:

yup i'm in the process of buying some M&H 12-16's and using brad's(lovethistruck) rims/slicks to get the calipers shaved down enough...i need more grinding disk though

bone up, get the heater out, close the door on the truck(the dust gets everywhere)
order some pizza, but you dont need to even start till ya got the rims bo you can get close , but its stilll a pain, an yep about 5-6 hours per caliper.

and be careful, use some glasses or goggles, the dust will get into your eyes and can be very painfull the next day

but the 16 nostalgias work better than anything i have tried yet

windows are up and doors are closed, i've got brad's rims and tires(same AE 058 wheel and 12-16 slicks as what i bought) here gonna try them out sunday if i get everything fitted and i got a face shield and a dust mask on

cool bo:rock: when you get close take a zip tie, run it between the rim and the caliper from top to bottom , when you can slide the zip tie from top to bottom you are done.

but.......when you get to that point, spin the rim also, not all the eagles were perfectly round, you may have a small high spot on some, but if you get to that point all that will happen is you rub a little paint off on the rims.

the worst part i remember is the inside of the caliper, or the part closest to the inner area, seems as tho you really had to go after that area, that and the bottom of the caliper..

after you get them cut down, take ya some 320 grit, then 600 and sand them down a little an the caliper spray on paint works best nd they should come out looking great.

well me and my brother-in-law don't work together very well, we ended up drinking a shit load of beer and started on the second side, first side is almost done hope to have it finished friday night put some burn out vids up and then take it to the track sunday:rock:

I was able to pull a 1.75 60' and I only hit the track a couple of times a year. I am sure I could get in the 1.60's with some practice on a decent track.

Wear a painters mask while you are shaving the calipers..as well as the goggles.... Lay out some cardboard (its very messy) and plan on 10-11 hours of grinding...

Of course you will need to add some time for the: "I'm sure that is enough, let me check the fit ......"M***er f***er :argh: , cant be that much more"....grind...grind...grind..."That has to be enough now"...."No way...ugh,...damn! pinched my finger" ....grind ..grind ...grind...rinse & repeat

yeah got one side done and a decent start on the next side, when i got it close i spray painted the inside of the rim put it up there and spun it around worked pretty good but i'm DREADING the next side since i know what i'm in for now but too late to turn around
