4.88's installed

4.88's

Well considering the BIG difference in temp,I do not think that was to bad,Did you feel it was easier to come out of the hole now? or were you having problems spinning?

Update. I finally got to the track with the 4.88's and I think it made a difference. I can't remember if my best prior time at LACR was 13.7 or 13.6 but I matched or beat that time yesterday 13.64. I am not sure how much time difference heatsoak would make but the difference in temperature was 50 degrees with 4.10's and 102 degrees with 4.88's yesterday. Personally I think it made a huge difference but I am not a 100% sure cause the times were the same.

What was your trap speed?? 60 times?? Were they close to what you ran with the 4:10's??

Before and After 60's is where you should see the difference.

I figure my 4.56's are good for about 1-2 tenths in the 60', which will equate to 2-4 tenths in the 1/4 mile.

Everything else being equal (which is wasn't since you said the temps were much hotter this time), your mph shouldn't really change that much.

If you went slightly quicker this time, in much hotter weather, then you should be able to cut a few tenths off that once the weather cools back down. With traction of course.;)

I think it was definitely better off the line and recovery was a lot better. At LACR it is a very slippery track.

I had a wide variation of 60 times and still ended up pretty close to the same 1/4 mile time. I know it sounds wierd but I ran a 13.7 with a 2.3 60 and my last run I had a 2.0 60 and 12.64 run.

How about your rpm's crossing the finish line? How close to redline?

patrick
No problem with RPM's cause my trap speed was only 103 and 104.

I personally think the gears made a huge difference but I don't want to guarantee it until my time slip shows otherwise. There was a lot of things that should of made my times slower yesterday like a difference of 50 degrees and a DA of 5500 but I am not sure how many tenths of a second it makes so you have to make your own assumptions whether it is better or not. But my personal assumption is around 4 or 5 tenths.
