does anyone else have a problem gettin it into 5th gear it takes me 2 times jusat about every time.....maybe its just me or does that mean somethings about to go

Still got the Hurst shifter? Replace it with a B&M, you will love it. Easy swap.
I never drove the stock shifter but in my X-Metal I have never had any issues. 5th gear is one of the gears I know I'll never miss, not sure why, just a nice feeling. Now, if only Reverse wouldn't hide so much I'd be on to something lol. I've heard I'm not the only one though. As someone else once said, I don't drive in reverse all day so it's no major.

i have never had a problem with my stock shifter.. only the dreaded 2nd to 3rd B.S.

Could be you are no longer building enough pressure to fully disengage the transmission. Mstr/slave having issues....

Giting to know the shift pattern takes a spell, once ya have it down, it wont be a bother.
LOL! I'll say. I did it at the shop when getting the drop kit installed and the guy who worked there (my mate) laughed his arse off saying to try getting my blouse out of the way before shifting lol. Anyhow, a few weeks later he got in and drove it and couldn't find reverse..........revenge teasing is sweeeeet. :laugh: I've also had my brother in law, experienced driver, Air New Zealand pilot (737) and he had trouble a few times during a road trip of ours. Yea it's always nice when people are standing around admiring the truck you get in rev the engine a few times to makes the exhaust pop, throw it in "what you think is rev" and out of no where the horrible grinding noise, then they laugh and forget what they were admiringCarlwalski said:LOL! All good mate, you're doing all you need to do, I can read it fine. Besides, I'm sure you've seen the threads on the fact the brain only picks up the first and last letters of words then makes the word out like that. Ah, I don't care, most people see the truck and expect an auto, rather grind in reverse and make human error than let the truck drive me. Plus, we don't drive around in reverse all day.

The B&M is a must have. My dad got me one for christmas and I wished I had gotten it the day it came out!
