6.1 Hemi in a Wrangler!

Cool conversion. I saw another one last year on ebay -- guy did the same style conversion. The only problems I see with this one is suspension, driveshaft and axles/carriers. The suspension does not leave much room for articulation/flex without the tires hitting. Take that Jeep into the rough stuff, rocks, deep ruts, you can count on tire rub with possible body damage, depending on the situation. Jeeps and other short wheel base vehicles can have horrible problems with driveshaft angle and vibrations when lifted anywhere beyond OEM ride height. Also, the Dana 44's and OEM lockers will not be long for this world with the increased torque output of the 6.1 and the increased tire diameter/size. Stock up on front drive U-joints and axles. Also, for 37's the gearing may need upgrading to 4.88's.

That my friends, is a beautiful thing!!

First, the RE (Rubicon Express) Long Arm Suspension is a very good lift. What they do is put in bumpstops to the tires dont rub on the fenderwells. The RE Long Arm will give you a ton of wheel travel.

As for the vibrations, this is a 4 door and gives you more wheel base. The rubicon model does not require any mods to the transfer case. Non rubicons require slip yolk eliminator and drive shaft mods done.

I agree with you on the D44 and 4.10's. They need 4.88's

Here are a couple of examples....:D

They are VERY capable!!

If i didnt own my truck this is what i would have!

I hear ya on that lift -- Rubicon's stuff is really good. Personally, I would like see a little more distance between the tires and fender openings - I don't like laying down on the bump stops too much. Also according to Rubicon's catalog, the JK, including the 4 door, will need driveshaft mods -- new shafts with 1310 CV's and yokes.

Yes the Rubicon, straight out of the box, is one very capable trail rig. I was considering one as well but wanted a 10 more -- I already got a "jacked up" 4x 4 -- didn't need 2.

I'd like to do that but 2 things -- cash in hand is the first and I want to be careful I don't upset the balance/handling of the truck or create other drive line/vibration issues by lowering it. Even though mine is a RC and many have reported no vibration/drive line issues -- my luck has proven otherwise in the vehicle mod department. I spent a tidy sum of cash chasing down vibrations on my Chevy 4 x 4 and finally solved them with a T-case mod (super short SYE and new CV DS), which gained me about 9" of drive shaft length. In turn the extra length lessened the drive shaft angle and wear on the CV's and removed the vibrations. For now, I'm not a frequent visitor of my local drive shaft shop.

Nice wheels -- I like them. Be careful with them in the rocks. I too use my 4 x 4 as a daily driver and it is actually cheaper to run everyday given the price of fuel and it gets much better mileage. Although I do miss the benefits of my tuner (detuned to OEM to run 87 octane) and when I feel the need for speed, the 10 is always waiting in the wings. :D

better than the 10 thou at 10.2 running super thats the excuse i used and it worked
