I,ve been thinking about this for quite awhile,Here are some of the obstacles:
Trans weighs aprox 485 lbs.(torque convertor weighs 65 lbs)
Dimensions are huge by gigantic
Custom trans bracket and driveshaft
Custom shift linkage and shifter
Cost - Aprox $5,000 plus
Could be bought as a stand alone unit(T.C.M. must be wired to other modules Bus systems)(communication is needed for vehicle speed,throttle position,ect.)
The diesels run to about 3,500 rpm max(line pressure concerns above that)
Custom torque convertor
Will the starter work/fit???
Will it actually bolt on???
Probably more unknowns to overcome!!!
