Forgot to mention....with the new motor redline is now

6550.....

never touched it...shifts are still set to 5900 but the nos spins the rpms up so fast that the truck is at 6200 before the shift is complete....

Sorry, F1 does not run Methanol. They now run a gas that is tightly controlled.

Back in the hayday of the 1.5 liter (90 cubic inches) turbo motors, F1 did not control the fuel. Some of those fuels we so toxic you would not want to spill a drop of it on exposed skin or breath the vapors. But then they were producing in excess of 1400 hp in their qualifing motors. Honda actually developed an oval piston V4 that produced 2000 hp, but it was banned before they ever got the chance to race it.

Ah, the good old days. :D

more support for the concept of setting the shift light below shift points...I have to set my shift light at 5300 rpm to get the shift done before I hit the rev limiter...a statement about the characteristics of a boosted engine reving fast...and the aging reflexes of a hot rodder in the last quartile of life!

Dam, That is just one more thing that I did not know.............

I am not that up on F1, Indy, or Cart. I just usually follow drag racing and I am so old and decrepid that my brain cannot hold more than the location of my Geritol. ..... .....

EH, what did you say ? ;)

Jack, you are much wiser than I.

And speaking of Drag Racing. How's the Funny Car season going?
