dodge just cameout with a new 6 speed transmission for their 2500 and 3500 series trucks, diesel only at this point,i have been looking for a different transmission for my 05 qc for awhile now ,reason being is we put alot of miles on this truck for work and the gas mileage is around 9-12,and i'd like to give the engine a decent overdrive unlike the one it has now,but i guess my main question is who could i get to reprogram the pcm for the new transmission,if its even possible

I guess that killed that idea. Here's one I've been wanting to ask. While Spousal Unit's Vette is in the body shop we're sporting around in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. It has an automatic in the floor that has a slap stick or whatever shifter that you rock back and forth to shift manually, just like the one we used to have in our Prowler. Any way to adapt that shifter to our transmission?

no. that trans in the jeep is a RFE trans... your SRT10 has a RE, trans 2 totally different transmissions.
There might something aftermarket????

I don't think that will work on our junk becasue of the air bag and the controller, I could be wrong. If it would work, it would be cool, but I don't think it will.

Try a GearVendors overdrive unit. You can bolt it on to the back of the current tranny. It will give you a 22% overdrive that you can activate anytime you want. You will have to change the tail shaft of the tranny but GearVendors can take care of that also.

Ok, just for shits and giggles, I sent these guys a note and asked them if their paddle shifter product would work on out trucks. Here's their response:

It will fit on the transmission but we do not support vehicles with air
bags. If this is an off road vehicle you may install the paddles but this
requires an aftermarket wheel Thank You for your interest in our products
