Let's see where do I start here? There are many folks out there that love to spread conspiracy theories, the internet has made their hobby easy for them. There is no doubt in my mind that we were attacked that day by terrorist cells. Are there things about it that we don't know? Of course there are. There is bound to be countless piles of classified information laying about with details that we will never know. But this isn't the first time that Americans were attacked and classified info was held back, and it certainly won't be the last time. I know things about the Beirut Marine bombing that others don't know, and there are others that know things that I don't. Information is power, and people don't freely share power.
As far as your friends giving up their lives, I am truly sorry for them and for you. But I am also proud of them. People like them are why we have our freedoms and our way of life. It isn't the government that gives us these things. It is the citizens of this country that are willing to put it all on the line. I wish I could thank each and every person that has ever risked it all for this country in person, but of course that is impossible. So I did the next best thing, and volunteered to do just the same, just as your friends did. They are heroes, don't ever forget it and don't let anything make you doubt that what they did was right.
Should we be in Iraq? I don't know. It's that simple. I think that the mission has become clouded, mostly due to bullshit politics. I don't know that we should be the world's police, but the question remains, if we don't do it who will? Who will try to protect the downtrodden? Who will keep some lunatic from wiping out 1/2 of his own people? Who will not only condemn this behavior but will actually take action? The UN? They are a joke. I am proud when my country takes charge and tries to accomplish these things.
