9 MPG on highway??

I don't drive my truck on the highway often. Today I was driving on the highway and found the mpg on highway was 9? I thought it was supposed to be 9 in the city and 15 on the highway?? Is there something wrong or what?

Depends on how you drive it. Were you driving it like grandma and getting 9mpg or were you DRIVING IT?

you have to reset it otherwise it will average from the last time it was reset. Once you get on the highway hit the reset button and it will show diffrently.

I get/got around 17 mpg in 6th gear driving from western kansas to denver at 75 mph.

I was driving at 75mph at 6th but was I should set it at 5th? Ok, I will try reset it when I get in the highway.

I was just driving on the highway back to home and I pushed the reset before I got in the highway. The mpg climbed up to 16.1mpg at 70 mph in 6th. I guess that is good enough. Thanks guys!

You guys get some really good numbers on the highway. I drive about 50% city 50 % highway and average 8.8 city and 12.0 highway for a combined average of 10.4 mpg.

Mine is same. If I set or not set it at cruise and I will still get 16 on the highway. My mpg are 9 city and 16 highway.

MPG = Miles Per Gallon. In fact, I just took a ride around with my truck. I reset the computer on roof and it show that my city mpg is 12. I am guessing that my truck is 12 city and 16 highway? Maybe it is mistake?

When road racing at Hastings Motorsports Park last year I was able to get the mileage down to 4.0 mpg. I was hoping for something in the 3's...damn

I figured that I put 20 miles on the truck each session which was 20 minutes long. So...thats about 5 gallons of gas each session :burnout:

let me first ask why you even checked your mpg? do you have nothing better to do? i have never onced checked mpg b/c it will be too depressing! rather slit my wrists! go to the nearest toyota dealership and get a prius you hippie:star:
