What is it, I have seen people mention it before in Posts. I just had my PCM Re-Flashed at the dealership when i kept getting Bogus Check Engine Lights.

I thought the Truck was already programed to run Only 93. Is This True. Does this new flash produce more power???

It's an aftermarket performance tune. You can either send off your PCM and have it flashed or buy another PCM and flash it so you can swap it in and out with your OEM PCM. This is beneficial when you take your truck back to the dealer. You put your stock PCM back in so they don't reflash it back to factory tune. There is also an SCT handheld programmer that reflashes your stock PCM. It memorizes your stock tune so you can go back to it whenever you want. The replacement PCM's can be gotten through DC Performance, Boomer or B&G Performance. Or keep your eye's open for one to come up for sale on the VTCoA. The SCT can be gotten through some of the vendors here too.

Chime in vendors looking for that sct tuner who's selling it.

I'm sure there are quite a few of us just waiting for one of the vendors to offer the SCT Flash unit at a discount. Let's hope we hear from one soon... maybe a Group Buy? I know I'd be in....

Roe, DCPerformance & PSI carry the SCT. Sorry if I left anyone out.

I believe the SCT is vin specific meaning you cannot transfer the programs to other vehicles -- but problem could probably be solved with a re program to your truck via DC Performance, Roe etc for a fee - but a fraction of the $700 cost for a new SCT

SCT for me----group buy would be the ticket----DC Performance and what other vendors do we have for the SCT ? Roe ?

I think the trucks only require 91 octane stock ---according to the owners manual----correct me if I'm wrong.....

The SCT actually reprograms your existing PCM. So the VIN is already there. If you are able to buy a flashed PCM from another member then you will need to have the VIN changed in that PCM to match your truck. Each PCM is specific to the the year and type (RC/QC) of truck you have.

The flash will produce more power for your RC but to get full benefit, you need to have deleted your cats, and or have headers.

Remember the stage 2 flash is already for use with headers. IF you do a cat delete after you do the flash however, it will require a reflash.
This according to Chris at DC Performance.

I thought the QCs were getting much better results than the RCs...

Yes and no kinda..............qc's from the factory lose some with the auto tranny...... but the flash does help the rc's for sure..........is what my point was. ;)
