Hey all,

I've got my grandfathers 1973 Lincoln Mark IV with 55k. My fiancé and I are using it in our upcoming wedding. I know for a fact that my wife-to-be in a wedding dress is not going to be a happy camper in a triple black car in the middle of June in Florida heat.

Basically what I have been told is that I need a new condenser and EVAP canister.

Anybody know where I can find one that will fit the car? Can be universal, just has to be close.

Thanks

Is is not available at your local parts stores? Usually older cars like that they can get parts for easier than newer cars? I wouldn't think it should be too difficult. Ford/Lincoln house? Lincoln restoration places online?

And before you start changing parts, unless you already have, Get a Good A/C guy to give it a once over and let you know for sure. Or you may be changing stuff just because someone thinks it might be this or that.

The condensor can be ordered from Quality Lincoln auto parts, service, cars at Lincoln Land, Inc. Classic cars and parts. . I would get the complete AC system checked before ordering any parts. What freon are you going to use. Some off the old systems don't do well with 134a conversion. We used a lot of Freeze 12. It has been discontinued but still can be found.
The EVAP canister is for polution control and it can be bypassed and car will run fine.

I have 10 lbs of r12 if needed. Don't do a conversion on something that old, just get the right freon and be done
