If the long rope is due to a lower ratio ( higher numerical #) then the short rope, the long rope would be easier, ie.. If you need to pull a rope 32" to rotate a shaft 1 revolution VS a 12" pull for the same revolution, then the longer pull would be easier, and making more torque.

Just take off the compressor and arap all with a string and measure the string. Next, go to NAPA and get a belt.
I done just that with my Dart and it worked fine. I wanted serpentine but wanted the alternator in a different spot.
