Went and did the auto cross thing for the first time ever, first time having the truck on a course at all. I was a blast I recomend it to everyone, its really amazing how hard you can through these things around. Their was a twin to my truck their also, a new owner, I directed him to this site so we will see if he makes the trip.

Autocross are slow speed and more technical then fast, ALOT of slolum cones to go through. I ran the whole thing in 1st gear other then on short shot where I could grad 2nd for a short time. But boy the rev limiter was getting a work out in 1st gear, had a guy come up to me at the end wondering how hard it was turning because it sounded nasty :D

I entered what was called special interest class being I had no idea what I was doing and that class is for beginers. Their was only 3 in the class: me, a 98 supercharged Grand Prix, and an 04 Nissan Titan that had a Banks sticker on it. Their was 2 session with 4 runs in each session, after session 1 I was second to the Grand Prix buy .166 sec, I was getting faster every lap. After the second session I kept gaining and ended up beating the Grand Prix by 1.239 sec. But now that I won in that class I guess I cant run it any more.......

To give you an idea on time my fastest clean lap was 64.482 (I did do a 64.367 but hit 1 cone) their was an 06 ZO6 their, sounded great, that ran a 58.895. Based on that I think the truck did pretty dam good. Slowest thing thier was the Nissan Titan at 75.826 LOL

It isn't much of a spectator sport but here are a couple of pictures.

Auto crossing is always a good time, I ran mine shortly after getting it and turned everyones head. They were amazed the truck was so fast and at the end of the day I was in the top 10, finished less than 1 second(thinking it was around .5secs but so long ago not sure) off the fastest lap which was set by a Lotus.

It was fine, and it was hot. Was around 85 deg and no shade, could tell the track was much hotter the second time I ran, but I ran faster. Truck was pretty much normal temp all the time, but it is just a 1 minute run then you get back in line and go again, not like making many laps in a row.

That is way cool! I have been a drag racer for years, but that looks pretty fun. I have some friends that auto-cross their Neon and have a lot of fun. You have given me the bug. I think I might try it. Great job man!

It is worth trying atleast once, I do the drag race thing from time to time also, but it is sure fun to work the truck left and right instead of just a straight line. Its too bad that they don't offer an actual class for the trucks that would be competative, you have to do it just for fun. Plus unlike an all out road course you really don't get up enough speed to get into too much trouble.
