Had the code 0740 come up and the cruise control when to pot. While set it would surge back and forth 500 rpm. Totally messed up. Called VENOMOUS1, Dr. Viper, my go to man on my truck, my friend and he said it was the torque converter solenoid. We had had issued with my torque converter before. Remember the bad guy Rusty from Arizona (TCS Converters) that builds bad stuff and refuses to make good and take care of his mistakes.
I cleared the code as instructed and all was well. This is Thursday evening late. Told Scott I could come to Waco (210 miles) on Saturday morning. He said he could help. Change of plans and I left Houston at noon Friday. Got there at 4pm, he dropped what he was doing, changed my 3 solenoids, filter and fluid, tightened the bands and put me back on the road by 6:30. To boot, he would not accept labor costs because of the earlier bad torque converter from TCS was sold thru him. I might make Scott a pall bearer at my funeral.
You just don’t find many like him anymore. A throw back to when men did what they said they would do and when folks helped others.
