This Saturday when I had my 305/30/22 Dunlops Sport Max's put on, I wanted them to do an alignment, but being difficult, they said they wouldn't spend the time it would take to do it with out camber bolts.

So, this week, I am going to an alignment specialist(I went their last fall and they had no problem loosening 4 bolts, moving it around and tightening it back up(sarcasm obviously.)

I have done some research, and some have said -.5 degree camber. My preference is handling at its' best and who gives a ***** about tire wear.

What about adjusting the caster and toe? Any recommendations?

thanks alot fellas.........Oh and LADY(s) too!

Jon

btw, I have been making aggresive adjustments on my "specialty" vehicles (as my insurance agent calls them) for the past 8 years, and I have learned to learn from others mistakes! It is much less costly!

If you have lowered your truck you may neet to drill/dremel out the camber slots to get it to Zero out!!

Please keep us posted on this!!

Someone posted the exact specs on alignment a LONG time ago,maybe it was Stinker ? I think it was a bit more aggressive than stock adjustment.

posted I will!

This was an interesting read;

Basically, I am going to go with some negative camber, so no need to zero out(I have X-metal 1/2 drop), I will have some positive caster and a little toe-in.

I hate being the guinnea pig! But I gots to do it!

thanks!

I have the Xmetal 1/2 drop also, they were never able to get it to Zero out but it,s so close that I don't have any wear issues and the truck drives strait as an arrow!

Alignment Specifications

05 SRT10 RC Alignment Specifications:

Factory:
Camber = -.3 to +.3 degrees
Caster = +5.3 to +6.3 degrees
Toe = +.04 to +.20 degrees

My Agressive Settings:
Camber = -.6 degrees
Caster = +6.5 degrees
Toe = +.37 degrees

My aggressive alignment and aggressive tires and aggressive driving style = lousy tread wear topped with an "ear2ear :D"

On my favorite off/on ramp, I have picked up a very stable 15 mph as compared to a factory alignment with the Scorpions.

When I had my truck done after installing Boomers lowering kit, they could not get the Camber in. I asked what it was and it was a negative .5 degrees if I remember right. I said that was fine with me, as I also prefer the better cornering ability over the tire wear.

When I had the Cobra done, the spec said a negative .25 degrees for the street, and negative .5 or .75 for racing. I went with the .5 degrees. Next time it will be the .75 degrees.

In both cases I left the caster and toe in at factory specs.

Thanks for the input.

I wanted to add a bit more Caster to benifit from more negative camber as steering angle increases. I may end up taking some toe back out though. My Shop said I could come back and they would help "dial it in" free of charge. Not bad for 55 dollars after tax, eh?

More tweaking, the very next day!

Way too much Toe and a little too much caster. Had to bring down the camber a wee bit to keep both sides perfect without hacking up the mounting slots. New settings:

Camber: -.5 degrees
Caster: +6 degrees
Toe: +.02 degrees

I am going to try this for a couple months (hard daily driving and atleast one autocross) before making any more adjustments.:D :rock:
