i have a question recently me and a friend made his intake from PVC pipe.. i'm going to try and do the same thing but only little more refined with aluminum. first off i'm not very happy with my K&N CAI and i'm not to fond of the volant. i'm thinking about making one that runs down to the bottom of the front bumper.. i've taken most of my center bar out for weight reduction so i know i could get a filter in there.

Very bottom where the black mesh is at for people who don't unerstand lol

how much better do you think this would be than your normal CAI? on'y thing i can really think of it would be true cold air coming into the intake. what are your thoughts?

Thanks for sharing this one...

I lost TQ and HP with my own truck with the K&N c.a.i. kit.
Something like 13 TQ and 8 HP
Off it came...

that is why i'm going to make my own! lol and i lost my break coolers a long time ago lol

And thats the reason I started 2 ram air threads in the past:confused: ----Great info Wifey:rock:

Now, is anyone or any of our great vendors willing to make a true system with good bling effects for our trucks:)

i'm not a vender but i'll make intakes and Side exhaust plates lol.... hahaha:rock: when i get my check this coming friday i'll see what i can't mock up

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with Tooloe.... My concern with the inlet being so low on the truck is the possibility of water being sucked into the tube and well we now what that will do:mad: ...I do drive mine almost daily and the puddles can get deep in florida:mad:

My K&N may be coming off and the stock box back on until someone comes up with a blinging functional design:rock:

Yes they do not work worth a shit! Here is one I made! Dual 4" PVC with K&N Filters. I hooked up my super chips and monitored the IAT temp. At idle the temp was well over 100+ degrees F. Driving the temp would drop some, for the most part I wasted $200 on a hot air intake! This was back in my Hemi days!

Yeah it sounded mean, but just was not practical! I'm glad we have honest vendors who don't brag about 30 hp gains with a "cold air intake". I took the advice I was given on here and just bought a K&N drop in filter!

I have a 3.5" inch tube going from the bottom of my airbox, out to the hole in the front bottom cover(RAM-AIR) cut the hole in the center of the box and silicone around the tube. I used black 3.50" black culvert plastic tube from menards:p

If ya fab up a nice intake that is actually functional unlike the ones on the market now Ill take one..As long as its pretty ..
